Trust me, on all of the films I have watched clips and have been completely surrounded by the sound field and the bass rumbles have weakened my house foundations. AQ is not an issue.

Everything flies from front to back in true 3D sound.

The Falcon in flight sound in isolation gives me goosebumps, it has such depth. Then again, I have a superb amp

I know. I always thought it was made on on purpose? To make it fit better with the audio mixes of the OT? ROTS is seriously lacking in the bass department... (the dvds)

Not anymore, the opening battle scene above coruscant made both my cats run in terror from the rumbles. I think they thought we were in the middle of an earthquake lol

My wife has twice threatened to walk out if I don't turn it down to stop the rumble That was the OT as well

Well, an example of what they sounded like before is here in this video. Fast forward to 1:20 to hear one of them speak.

And here's what they soundede like in ROTS:

Specific scene is at 7:15 in this clip.

I agree. I believe the originals will be released one day, but I'm not sure if the quality will be there as it should. They will probably just copy the existing 2K master and re-tweak it to match the original....which would still be nice if they fixed the black crushing and did a real color timing change to match the originals. However, I cannot see Lucas will ever allow the originals to actually exceed the current version in terms of PQ and AQ. At least they cannot use that POS laser disc port this time. LOL

I edited my post to include the ROTS voice example. So TPM battle droids sound more like that I presume?

If that would ever happen, I would stop watching any Star Wars movie forever. Or atleast I would never watch those versions with GCI Yoda, because Yoda was, and still is the big reason that made Empire Strikes Back so good, magical and interesting.

And on-topic, I have to admit, even though I swore to not buy this release because of Vader's "Noo!", I have started to warm up to this. Ewoks blink and even Obi-Wan's cry of doom don't really bother me at all. (But I admit, Obi-Wan's cry sounds quite silly)

I guess I will just wait for more people's opinions about this set. Hell, it has to be very good set to make up for ruining Vader's redemption.

But for now, I am not buying this release.

Thought it might be worth bumping this as it was posted an age ago. It was the most talked after deleted scene. Someone head over to the Force.net forums and let DarthWolvo know, I can't be bothered to register. Send him my regards

In the script, Yoda makes contact with Qui-Gon Jinn from beyond the grave; Qui-Gon then teaches yoda the secret of becoming one with the force. This was cut early enough that Liam Neeson never recorded the dialogue, so only a temporary voiceover exists.

[Show spoiler]It shows a crude Yoda model (no finished textures) sitting on a small chair looking out of a viewport at an asteroid field.

Qui-Gon: When I became one with the force, I made a great discovery. With my training, you will learn to merge with the force at will. Your physical self will fade away, but you will still retain your consciousness. You will become more powerful than any jedi could imagine.

Bail Organa: Excuse me master Yoda, Obi wan kenobi has made contact.

Yoda does not speak so no Frank Oz.

The voice is a deep American one and sounds like the face of Bo LOL.

From what I can remember, one of the episodes in The Clone Wars has a droid saying, "Those droids must not be independent thinkers like we are." That being said, the droids in Episodes 1 and 2 are ones controlled by a starship, the ones in The Clone Wars and Episode 3 are independent thinking droids. Hence the sound change.

I always thought of the droids in I as a specialized type, and the ones in II & III as mass production models for the war. So they're going to be a little different.

DarthWolvo, my pleasure

ROTJ PQ is again awesome, little bit of grain the way it should be but outstanding detail. When Jabba's barge goes up, I expect to get a noise abatement notice in the morning, that is all I will say LOL

Too bad they couldn't get Liam Neeson to do the voiceover work, especially since they had another shot when he did some work on the Clone Wars cartoon.

This may have been posted, but is Best Buy going to price match Amazon for the Complete Saga? I ask because it's now $79.99 on Amazon.
