Yes, apparently sound dropouts all over Episode IV. At least on the UK discs which are the only ones to surface so far. Lovely.

Best thing to do is disable your Internet Connection before popping the discs in.

If that doesn't work, delete the BD Data Utility stuff
. It solved the XFC playback issues.
I hate to say this but I agree, X men first class has the same problems. I think a firmware update will be coming out soon.

what blu ray player does everyone have? I own the oppo 93, panasonic 210 and the ps3 slim. I remember some long load up times for avatar and other fox titles.

Can this thing get any worse?!?

I think Fox always has some interesting Blu-ray content that keeps them "ahead of the curve" - which is to say I always hear about Fox titles causing issues for firmware and forcing BD companies to upgrade their players.

I think before everyone makes judgement on what one poster has said with no links or proof of this even happening. It is best to wait & not start a discussion of something that may or may not happen !

We have a couple of people here that have them & been posting & say nothing about this

I would agree but X men First Class is also from Fox and it has had some of the same problems that people are reporting. What i do is disable the internet connection for X Men FC and it works fine. I am sure that a firmware update will happen soon for the player.

I didn't attack anybody. I merely reminded everyone that these altered vs. unaltered discussions have been done to death in this thread and that they go in circles like Groundhog Day ("You babe... I got you babe...") without any chance of resolution. Then I asked (including a "please") to disuss the version at hand and not some other version (which would be Off Topic). I think this kind of opinion is also allowed on a message board, or is it?

One of the things that I am most excited to check out, is the consistency of the A/V quality across the whole saga. I really don't know what to expect.
