From what I've read, the Boba-Fett cartoon from that, is on there.

Not if you lived in Region A. I still have a region free player though.

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if I did . Okay, let me be more specific-- it was about Anakin and Obi-Wan fighting in the clone wars. In the actual prequels, Episode II leads up to how the Clone Wars begins, then skips to the end of the war in Episode III, leaving the cartoon series to fill in the gap (Haven't seen much of it, but am hearing good things about the later seasons).

Review lists quite a few disappointing changes. I can't wait to hear the audio though.

That would, truly, be a dream come true.

At least, we're getting Godzilla (Gojira) from Criterion.

So the TPM is the worse transfer? Does anybody even care, honestly? That movie sucks.

I forgot about that ROTJ, dance. I have not watched that dvd in years. Another reason not to get these movies with these ridiculous changes.

Not suprisded about episode III, good movie, and is reference quality.

I agree highly with this sentiment. However, most people follow this line of thinking to the opposite conclusion that I do. I watched the UOT this week (fan-made anamorphic conversions) and loved it. For me it was closer to the TRUE nostalgic experience, since I mostly grew up watching the movies on a small TV on VHS.

So I still hope to see a new restoration of the UOT come out someday, but in the meantime, I WILL enjoy... my cruddy, inferior looking DVD copies. For me, Blu-Ray is a luxury, not a necessity, and I've always valued content before tech specs. So I'd really rather watch the UOT with inferior PQ and AQ. Just my opinion.

On the other hand, I'm actually really looking forward to enjoying the awfulness of the prequel trilogy on the big screen in HD. Despite my criticism of the films, I actually still have fond memories of seeing them at the theater and want to recreate that experience.

I still think that many of the people boycotting the release due to the "NOOOOOOO" scene have changed their minds and are going to secretly buy these blu-rays after reading that blu-ray review!

Its hard to explain, but although I think they are (for the most part) awful films, I still enjoy watching them from time to time as sort of nostalgic curiosities (same reason I own and watch the Joel Schumacher Batman films, and the 3rd and 4th Superman films). And if I'm going to watch them, I'd prefer watching them on a big screen in HD.

Great picture and audio quality aside, I really no longer have any interest in watching the reworked versions of the original movies. Not a judgment call on anyone who does, but I just am not interested in those versions of the movies. Casey said he'd rather watch this Star Wars than no Star Wars, but I find that a silly statement. I can watch the UOT whenever I want, just not in the greatest available technical quality.
Pretty much sums up my thoughts on the matter too. I may well but the OT down the line out of curiosity (as i did with Predator UHE - just to see what the fuss was about) but I'll buy the PT cheap or the whole saga second hand when the fuss has died down.

Until then, i have my 2006 DVD's, my OPPO 93 and my KEF 3005se's and that'll have to suffice for now.

A galactic war that had hundreds of battles could never be given justice in one of two movies. The end battle of Attack of the Clones and the opening Battle of Revenge of the Sith are both well contructed action sequences that show us the genesis and the end of the war.

Watch the show

One of the reasons Attack of the Clones got low marks is because it wasn't shot in full 1080p

It was shot at a resolution of 1440 x 1080p rather then the 1920 x 1080p that Blu-Ray can max out at. Revenge of the Sith was shot in full 1920 x 1080p and thus should max out Blu-Rays capabilities

Needless to say releasing either of these movies in 4k would be pointless. The Blu-Rays are the best these two movies will ever look

I'd do the same, IF it was guaranteed to arrive on or before the release date. I've heard too many stories of stuff arriving many days late. Yeah. I am little weird that way.
