He should had been more clear about that probably I am just thankful he isn't letting Lucas go nuts with these films and it sounds like Spielberg really regrets making the changes he did to E.T. as well which is a good sign and indication that when the Indy Trilogy does debut on Blu-ray that they will be as unaltered as possible.

Well Raiders won't be unaltered, since he said the print shown was the verision that we'd get on Blu-Ray. And it was the one with the very very slight changes made for the 2003 DVD release and then again with the added cgi made for the 2008 HDTV print.

I am a little surprised Lucasfilm has only made alterations to Raiders. I don't believe TLC or TOD have had any changes.

Haha. Look at this quote from my local news paper today...

Quote:
Luckily both the OT and the effects heavy prequals make an eloquent argument for HD home cinema. They look great and R2-D2's every beep blasts from 6.1 digital surround sound.

It won't be enough to see off the HD download rebellion, but Star Wars could buy Blu-ray a stay of execution.
WTF is this guy on about? I hate people who review things they so clearly have not got a slightest clue about! This is what hurts the format, average joe reads these type of reviews and gets pounded with mis-information

Great news! Very thankful for that really looking forward to owning those on Blu-ray!

Still checking amazon waiting for them to ship my Star Wars.

The Blu-Ray will be like the 2004 DVD and get mostly glowing reviews with the problems being all but ignored.

Not complete bullshit at all. There are people that want the extended cut of E.T. now that SS has said it will only be the Theatrical cut of the film on BD next year...

There are even people, belive it or not, that actually like the changes to Star Wars. Probably not a lot but they still exist. And I think if GL had released the UOT and not the SE's people would have b!tched and moaned they werent getting the "Complete Saga"

Is there a single person on the planet who'd prefer the theatrical cut of Blade Runner over the Final Cut?

it makes perfect sense ( in my opinion) Lucas said his idea is to get the PT to rhyme with the OT
Episode 1- Anakin blows up Droid control ship
Episode 4- Luke Blows up death star
Episode 2 Anakin lost body part
Episode 5 Luke lost body part
Episode 3 Vader in the suit says Nooooo takes first steps
Episode 6 vader in the suit says Nooooo takes last steps

these are just off the top of my head but it is a structure widely used and plays right in to the teachings of Joseph Cambell. ( myths are the retelling of stories that strike a cord )

Also, LOTR extended seems to be the preffered cut vs the theatricals.

And why does Casey keep calling Episode II 'The Clone Wars'? Anyone would think he's a casual fan who's bowled over by the PQ and AQ because he doesn't know any better...
Trust me people will have blinkers on when its comes to this set. Look how many people are thanking the reviewer. Would they be thanking him if he said the PQ had problems or was average and they have'nt even seen it yet.

Only watched A New Hope so far and your view is spot with mine. The colour is so oversaturated even more than the dvd transfers. There are times when the screen becomes so red , Han's hair and face become one colour. Nothing looks natural and its a shame because the close up have a lot of detail in the actor's face. Detail lost in black crush, medium or long shots are not a massive upgrade over dvd. I know because i put them side by side last night just to check, which i always before my dvd's hit the dust bin.

Its not a train wreck but after watching Alien last week the start of my Star Wars blu ray watching as not got off to a good start and A New Hope could have been so much better.

They did fix most of the saber issues on Episode 6.
The following shots are from the Final German Blu Ray (identical to US Master) and not a rip:

Why is it that the camera pans up after the opening crawl in AOTC instead of down like every other Episode?
