Am I the only one who thinks this kid is the worst part of the prequels? Hayden could take some acting lessons and Jar Jar is obnoxious but hearing that brat talk makes me wish I only bought the original trilogy instead of the saga.

ordered mine the the 14th, got it today (15th) even though i only asked for free shipping, really glad I didn't pay extra for shipping

I think Hayden is worse. Jar Jar doesn't really bother me and I can deal with Lloyd but Hayden makes me a sad panda.

Jar Jar is okay, I think. Don't hate him, don't love him. He is just there and I accept him. Little Anakin is not that big of a deal for me either. But Hayden really DOES suck - especially in Episode II. He gets better in III but it's still a weak performance.

Yeah, I could see that as Lloyd is only in one film and Hayden's bad acting is in two. Maybe Lucas should direct actors to act? I saw in empire of dreams that he does not understand acting and cares little about the process. I can agree with that after watching the PT on blu ray. Lloyd still makes me cringe with his lines like "now that is podracing!" Or "yippie!" or "I am a person and my name is Anakin!"

I can't offer much of an opinion on that, I have only successfully made it all the way through AOTC once. I find that movie soooooooooooooo awful and boring.

No, but I'm not one of them. Have you seen the "Beginning" documentary on the DVD? Lucas narrowed it down to 3 kids, and the other two seemed like they were trying too hard in their tests with Natalie. As for Hayden, Lucas reportedly nailed down two actors for Anakin; the other was Colin Hanks. From what I read, he liked them both equally, but chose Hayden because he was unknown at the time.

OK, got the set about 2 hours ago from Amazon

Watched ANH for about an hour now. It looks INCREDIBLE. The sound has a lot more fidelity than it has ever had and the score sounds absolutely fabulous.

Could it have looked better? Yes, but this is pretty freaking good. Not seeing a big problem with grain. There is a very slight sheen of grain, but you have to look hard for it. The detail is amazing; as someone said, you can see fingerprints on Vader's helmet!

I watched the "I am your father" scene from Episode V as well and the LFE gets quite a workout in the saber battle When Vader chops off the bit of rail before giving the speech, it sounds deep and very, very cool.

You aren't the only one, that kid can't act his way out of a paper bag. No wonder the only other job he got was Jingle All the Way. Must be an honor to have been in 2 of the worst movies of all time, though.

But between Jake, Jar Jar and Hayden, I really couldn't make the call as to who was worse. I say equal suckage all around.

I guess I just excuse it because he's a kid? I dunno... it's definitely pretty bad, don't get me wrong, but I can handle it for Phantom because Liam Neeson and Ewan McGregor are there to pick up the slack. I dunno.

When he really starts to suck is when you start to think "Wait... this is the young Darth Vader?!" I can see him going from a regular man with some anger issues to Darth Vader, but a cutesy little kid who seems
