Finished Episodes 1-2! Stuning and Episode I is almost better on Blu than on DVD, I was more captivated by the story this time and flabergasted by the Pod Race and the saber duels!

Next: Clone Wars Micro Series (Animated) and The Clone Wars Season 1-2 on Blu-ray!

watched episode I last night. dear God, I used to think it was a decent movie ...annoying in places but still not bad.... Dear God the movie is so bad my buddies and I were cracking up all over the place at how big of a crapfest it was. Episode II after that wasn't as bad but still was sooooooooo cheesey. The OT still holds up today to anyone over 6 years old (unlike the PT)

I know there was some mention of this earlier in the thread but is anyone else still having trouble with this set and the Sony BDP S300? I'm aware its an older model and the load times are quite long, but last night I popped in the bonus disc archives for both trilogies and whenever I tried to access features for a certain planet the video intro would begin to chug then no options would show up for the menu, just the background picture... I updated my firmware earlier in the year and I'm going to update it once again tonight but I was just wondering if anyone has been having this problem?

Something NEW that I noticed while watching 'A New Hope' last night, and that was some electronic sounds have been added inside of Ben's bungalow.

Did anybody else notice this?

I just finished watching RotS, and at 1:36:13 there is some kind of video noise/distortion just over Palpatine's left shoulder for a few seconds. Has anyone else noticed this? I'm positive it's in the encode, and not just a flawed disc.

I also noticed that after watching TPM and AotC, which both have some of the best sound ever, that RotS is much weaker. I know the DVDs were kind of this way too, but it really shocked me how incredible the first two are, and then this one is so drastically different. It sounds okay, but it's slightly quieter overall, has less LFE, much less surround activity, and the light sabers are much, much quieter, with almost no bass at all.

I'm watching A New Hope now and man the magenta frames inserted for the laser blasts are super annoying. I don't remember it being that bad on the DVDs but it's been years since I have seen them.

I haven't gotten to that one yet, however I have heard of this sound issue mentioned regarding RotS on other forums.

Yea, it's super annoying, and has been there since the 2004 DVDs due to it's color re-grade.

This was one of the things at the top of my wishlist for fixes too.

Yep, I noticed it as well. I'm watching ANH as we speak. Another thing I noticed - Ponda Boba ( Walrus Man) now moans after getting his arm taken off by Obi-Wan. Also, a bit of bass has been added to Jabba's voice.

The only negatives I've found in the new mix is that the sound is a bit harsh at the beginning, after the stormtroopers have blasted through the door of the blockade runner. The music was buried in the sequence as well. Also, the volume of Luke's voice kept going up and down in the scene where we see Leia's hologram for the first time.

This was one of the things at the top of my wishlist for fixes too. .

Yeah they should have just taken those frames out completely.

Yea, that's shame about the score there being buried there.

And regarding the door blast, I am very disappointed that there is no low frequency bass in that shot as I remember that my old VHS tapes had it.


And another fix that they failed to do, is when R2 topples over in the canyon, it still sound like a mortar round landing. Maybe that's the original sound effect of the door being blown and moved to the wrong part of the film.

Funny how it's much different sounding it is in the beginning of RotS when he gets kicked over.
