They're probably a visual aid so their buddies don't shot them in the back of the head, or a cellphone charger....

Thought it might.

Not sure what the issue is with the bitstream. You have the Slim yes? Probably have a fix in the next firmware if it's identified by Sony.

I have a launch model so I cant bitstream HD audio anyway, so I always have it set to LPCM for my HD audio and never had an issue

Just a plot point. I am now 100% convinced that Palpatine influenced Anakin to go over to the darkside with the dreams he had of Padame.

I base this on the fact that in the beginning of ROTS he talks with Anakin about the Sandpeople ordeal, imply that Anakin told him about how he felt when he had the dreams about his mom and she died.

Then right after that Anakin starts having the dreams about Padame, then Palpatine calls him to his box at that opera/lightshow whatever event and tells him how Darth Plageus was able to save people from dying and that Anakin could only learn that from a sith. Then when Anakin discovers he's Lord Sidious he tells him he can "save his wife from certain death", and Anakin replys "What did you say". To me Anakin was wondering how he even knew about Padame possibly dying, he never told him about his dreams in the movies, he hadn't told anyone up until that point that she was his wife either had he? Implying that Palpatine one had done his homework and two knew about the dreams.

This in my opinion this makes the deception and how Anakin fell to the dark side alot more understandable, and shows Palpatine to be the master manipulator that he was.

Well, one thing that can be said and I think everyone will agree with me here. Has any other film (or in this case series of films) had this much of a cultural impact that people will go through it with such a fine tooth comb and debate changes from one release to the next?

Speaking of alternate dialog...

I can confirm that Beru's line has an added word:

2004 DVD "Luke, Luke... Tell Uncle if he gets a translator be sure it speaks Bocce."

2011 Blu-ray: "Luke, Luke... Tell your uncle if he gets a translator be sure it speaks Bocce."

Did Palpatine or Vader send dreams to Luke on Dagobah, when he began to have dreams and visions of Han and Leia in pain?

I think Palpatine simply read Anakin's thoughts, same way Vader did to Luke ("Your feeelings for them are strong, especially for...sister...") and Palpy then exploited what he knew.

No other films in history have been changed this much.

Default THX Trailers At The END!!!

After all of the credits on each film, different THX trailers with the famous "Deep Note" are present on each film in HD, and in all their lossless audio quality!

In case you didn't bother watching THE WHOLE THING!

LOL

its funny but if i want to watch xmen i have to disable the internet connection. if i want to watch star wars, i have to switch the audio to lpcm. thanks 20th century fox. seriously though, i dont care. i love the movies so much that i can deal. the only change that really bothers me is the jabba scene in ANH. the audio is more than worth the price!

It's rare because most other films don't suffer from such alterations.

Yeah, nticed that last week. The Flower clip at the end of the PT and The old Blue box THX clip for the OT

I was disapointed they didnt include a new THX optimixer or the Lightsabre Blu-ray logo.

The distortion I hear happens on the dvd of ANH as well and when I just hook up the Blu-ray player to the television. I'm guessing it is just part of the soundtrack. Does any one else hear it in the scene where they are inside the garbage compactor?

Still not sure why I have to change my player's settings from "Direct" to "Mix" just for these movies. Otherwise, it sometimes sounds like my whole system is going to blow and the audio also sometimes drops out briefly.

As much of a lifelong fan as I am of the original trilogy, I could not bring myself to pay an extra $50 for the extras since I don't like and would not watch the prequels much if at all. I just took my bonus features disc from the DVD set and added it into the blu-ray set.
