And it's definitely a valid one, but since there is no real difference between the player or the receiver doing the decoding, it's just a thought. I am not sure if we'll see a replacement program for this since it may be that the player or (even worse) the receiver may need a firmware upgrade.

It would have spoilt the Sail Barge scene knowing Artoo had his lightsaber hidden.

One question the video showing the scene posted a few days ago, was that directly taken from the Blu? It shows Vader coming off the shuttle onto the Death Star as well.
Hmm, don't think I saw the video posted on here but on the BD it shows the scene of Vader arriving on the Death Star from the film, then cuts to the old footage.

It has all the finished effects and re recorded dialog too, so was cut pretty late in the game.

I don't really mind it and it sure as not change my life like it seem to have done for a lot of other people on this thread

That being said, I would have been ok with it if it never was there at all as well, one of those things that doesn't really change anything to the scene.

The "archival" commentaries on these discs are awesome. Now I have to go through the entire saga again for the new commentaries.....................

Why does everyone hate on the Hayden ghost in Jedi? That's actually a change that makes sense.

It changes it for me. The original scene played out as an example of great filmmaking. You knew exactly what Vader was thinking in that moment without him ever saying a word or seeing his face. The addition of him saying "No" adds an unneeded layer of melodrama in a scene that worked fine for over 30 years.

If Lucas can remove Luke's horrible Special Edition scream from TESB, I have hope that this mistake will also be rectified eventually. Aside from some Lucas fanboys who blindly love anything Lucas does, most fans are either indifferent to the added dialogue or downright hate it. Not exactly a change for the better, if that's the general opinion.

The point is that the scene as it already existed worked fine for 28 years. This was an unnecessary change, and one that can't be blamed on lack of available technology in the early 80s or anything like that (and had the situation been reversed, with him saying "Nooo" from the get-go and it being removed now after 28 years, it would still be just as pointless and unncessary of a change).
Nobody blames it on the lack of technology? And who are you to say that this change was unnecessary? Lucas sure didn't think so and he knows his own story and characters better than anyone!

Yeah! I think I worded my post not very well (and this phrase is even worst boy! I need English lesson 101). What I mean is mostly the NO in my opnion is not really needed, does not bother me but it's a tweak that really was not needed at all from Lucas part. He's done so I will live it but I would not mind if it was removed in the futur

Has anyone else noticed that in Empire Han no longer says "You could use a good kiss." I wonder why that line was dropped?

I have already finished watching TPM on Blu.

First of all, I LOVE the packaging! It's really classy IMO.
The artwork is much better than I thought.

I am certainly going to buy another set just to look at once it's on sale.

Regarding TPM:

Audio 15/10 The BEST I have ever heard! Puts Star Trek (2009), and any other disc I have to shame! Pure awesomeness! The lightsabers!!!! The podrace!!!
The spaceships!!! Simply mind-blowing!!!
It brought tears to my eyes!!!

Concerning the PQ: 6,5-7/10
I am kind of sad, because DNR has been applied too much for my taste.

Detail is still better than ever, and I saw things that I had never noticed before, and the VFX still hold up very nicely!!!
It's so clean!!!!!

Funny thing is that clothes often show tremendous detail, but the faces of Qui Gon, Obi Wan and Padme are too waxy.

I would really like a non DNR version of this, as I firmly believe it could be even more beautiful than Gladiator (the re-mastered one, of course).
I would love to see fine grain, and ALL the details.

I could see facial details and individual hairs, and some shots are perfect, but too many seem to smooth. That's a real bummer.

Overall, it's 100000000000 times better than the DVD version, and it felt like watching it again for the first time!!!

Interestingly, the political plot honestly moved me this time around, and the podrace, the farewell scene, and the entire finale gave me chills!!!!

I cannot say enough how awesome the sound is though!

Can't wait to watch AOTC tw. morning!!!!

And yet he didn't change it for the 1997 Specials Editions or the 2004 DVDs. Obviously he doesn't know his characters as well as you claim if it took him over 30 years to realize Vader should have been screaming "No. No!" before sacrificing himself to destroy the Emperor this whole time.

Explain how this is even something you need to question.

The technology has ALWAYS existed, long before the technology even existed to bring Star Wars to life, to have Vader say "Noooo!"

How could Vader's lack of a Noooo possibly, by any stretch of the imagination, be attributed to a lack of technology.

Curious Shaft, what do you think of the Star Wars Christmas Special? I've never met a fan of it, but since you're a True Fan™, I assume you like it and think it's full of symbolism and allegory.

Lol wut?

Ok, I'm going to go out on a limb here.

Is it possible for anyone to be neither a "True Fan Lucas Defender" nor a "Sad, butthurt, 'Lucas raped my childhood' neckbearded anger-monkey"?

I mean c'mon. I loved these movies as a kid when the first came out (A new hope was the first movie I ever saw in a theater, I was 5) and I still love them now. Yes, Lucas has made some dumb mistakes in changing them. Changes I don't agree with. Stupid changes even. But the fact is, these are kids movies. They always were. The acting in the entire series, with the possible expections of Harrison Ford and Alec Guiness, is atrocious overall.

so when I see either side of this stupid-ass argument get all worked up over the artistic integrity of frickin' C3P0 or a movie wiht hand puppets and terrible dialogue - I can't help but laugh.

Lucas Defenders: cut the crap. The changes were stupid. It's okay to admit they weren't a good idea. Star Wars is not perfect, and you can wash down all that silly nostalgia with a heaping helping of reality.

Neckbearded toydoll collectors: grow up. these are kids movies. your childhood did not get raped by Jar Jar Binks or an errant "Nooooo".
It's a kids movie series. Enjoy it, or go watch something else. But stop acting like a petulant child fer chrissakes.

that said - I got the Blu-Rays. I paid next to nothing for them because I traded in other movies I no longer watch. I'm enjoying the hell out of the quality, enjoying laughing at the preposterously bad acting, and the rolling my eyes at the poor change decisions Lucas made, and enjoying the spectacular Blu-Ray presentation on my 65" TV. I suggest you should too.

The lines still there Im pretty damn sure it is, as I didn't notice it missing. And someone else asked the same question the other day and the response was that it was still there.
