I'd stay away from Panasonic BD players, at least the old ones. They load so slow. When I watched episode IV at my mom's place last weekend on her Panasonic BD-60 it loaded so slow I thought it wouldn't load at all.

I like my Samsung C5500, loads every Blu-ray i've bought fast, and I've never had a problem with any movie including the Star Wars complete saga.

I had a BD-35 also, the laser went out in 6 months.

I love my Sammy C6900 foor the same reason. The only slow loading BD I have seen was XMFC. But that is one of those that go off to the internet. I hate it when they do that.

When the Jedi attempt to arrest Palapatune and the way he lunges toward the Jedi and they stand there as he slices them = facepalm
The Obi-Wan/Anakin duel is actually cool until they get to the lava. It looks cheesey, which is the biggest problem I have with it. Doesnt match up with the rest of the very good effects. It goes on a little too long as well. I agree too that the heat would have to be scalding at that point. Im also surprised Obi-Wan doesnt truly finish him off and make sure hes dead.

The Palpatine lunge scene is also pretty weak. Even my 8 year old daughter asks why "those guys just stood there" when Palpatine attacked them? Mace could have got in a fatal blow at that point, Im thinking.

Oh well - no films are perfect and have some "huh" moments. Doesnt make me love SW any less

He will, in the 3D version. In order to not introduce more continuity errors between the PT and OT, Lucas will have to edit Darth Vader out of the latter.

Jedi do not kill unarmed & helpless opponents. That scene just showed how Obi-Wan is greater jedi than Anakin ever was. Even though Anakin felt he shouldn't killed Dooku, he still did kill him.

I think it would be putting Anakin out of his misery, more than anything else. He was already burning when Obi-Wan turns away. Nice friend, he was .

What would you do to your "friend" if he slaughtered younglings? For someone as skilled as Anakin that's like killing defenseless children.

I know people like to keep this thread uncivilized and with constant personal attacks, but help would be appreciated. Just making sure that I got a faulty disc, since I'm having glitches at the 01:39:XX and 02:00:XX on AOTC, anyone with the same problems? TIA!

Great response.
No problems with any of my discs. It might be your BD player, which model is it?

They were pretty annoying, I'm sure Obi would have killed the one who made him look stupid in-front of Yoda in AotC.

I'm sure there's a Hallmark card for it somewhere.... It should be in the 'So You've Decided to Become a Sith' section. Right next to the Darth Vader Father's Day cards....

It's an old Insignia player (Funai Clone, hence my avatar ) but with that player I've only had problems with one movie (Hounddog). I'll try it with my friends player later on today. Hopefully (in a weird way) it's my player and not the disc, since I would hate to go through the replacement hassle with DD (I just got the set yesterday).

I overlooked the fact that this was a catalog title. In that case, it did well for what it was (I suppose).

I'll concede this one as well. No one rides the gravy train like Lucas.

Yeah, obviously he has to let him live for continuity, but I always thought he assumed Anakin was going to die and let him suffer a bit. If Sidious had not shown up, he'd of probably died.

Thats called horrible writing!

That was actually my favorite part of the entire prequel. Stone Cold Kenobi.

You were the chosen one. Now eat it. Let me grab that saber and hit the road.

Clearly his most bad-ass moment of the piece, I just wish they had hinted more at it in the lead up. A Jedi would have brought him to justice, and yes he was left to die. That was the whole point of him and Yoda going after the Emperor and Vader. Kill them if possible.

Mace killed Jango.

Mace knew the jetpack wasnt working & he had destroyed Jangos gun.

But Mace chopped Jangos head off anyways.

Guy with lightsaber vs guy with nothing.

I like it....just sayin.

Mace also wouldve killed Palps.

Why?

It's a distinctive style and yeah, maybe it's corny, but it tells you what the character is feeling and where he his emotionally.

Anakin's line about Dooku is pretty pathetic. He literally cuts both his hands off, and then refers to him as an "unarmed prisoner". I hope the humor wasn't intentional.
