I 'm glad you are able to fill in all the gaping holes yourself. I wish I could ignore stuff and just buy Jar Jar figures like you do. More power to you. Last edited by The Doof; 09-24-2011 at 08:31 PM. Reason: clarification |

But Anakin's feelings about being seperated from his mother is stated clearly 3 times in TPM. And refrenced in AotCs. Quote:
And Anakin and Padme's talk on the Refugee Transport when they're headed to Naboo. It's also fleshed out in the Clone Wars episodes that show the recruitment of Jedi children. Quote:

Clones and Sith have some pretty terrible writing and some awfully bad story-telling choices but overall the good outweighs the bad. I can watch parts of these fairly regularly and occasionally I can watch them start to finish. Phantom Menace and Jedi are flat out terrible. They have their good points but those good points are far outweighed by the tedious and the just plain bad. I'll watch these again if B&N ever ships my discs but they're firmly in Godfather III territory: I would love for them to be good but they're not. They're just not. There you go. Mystery solved. |

This is where we're going to have to diverge, because there is absolutely no possibility of me seeing this differently. It's like trying to convince me that grass is orange. Hayden was a terrible actor when presented with any kind of challenge. Keep him in the middle and he's just wall-paper. Put him to one extreme or another (anger, love) and he is downright terrible. It's like he doesn't even feel emotions, so he's incapable of displaying them. Like if you tried to explain love to a robot. "If you're not with me... you're my enemy. Don't. Make. Me. Kill. You. Good Morning, Dave." Gonna have to agree to disagree, because there's no way I can give his performance that much credit. The best I can say about it is that, at times, in 'Sith', his bad acting stopped distracting me and annoying me long enough that I could focus on the movie instead of him. ![]() |

Yeah agree to disagree then. As much as I found his and Portman's acting distracting in AOTC and parts of episode III, the parts where hd go goes dark, like yelling "liar". When I first saw it was shocking he could change personas that quick. |

I have just finished watching TESB, and so far, I love this set, with a few exceptions.
Did anyone see the super DNRd shots of Coruscant, right after the not so happy landing of Anakin, Obi Wan, and Palpatine????? ANH looks pretty good, and there is lots of detail, but audio, although dynamic, has quite some distortion to it, so to even compare it with any of the PT movies is laughable at best. I'd say ANH PQ: 4 AQ: 3,5 TESB looks and sounds excellent: PQ: 4,5 AQ: 4,5 TPM PQ: 3,5 AQ: 1000000000000000000000000000 AOTC PQ: 4-4,5 AQ: 100000000000000000000000000 ROTS PQ: 4,5+ AQ: 5 I have watched many of the extras, including the Spoofs, which I found very funny, and I was extremely pleased to see my favorite Robot Chicken episodes in there, as well as Natalie Portman kicking serious ass of SW nerds who ask stupid questions. It made me laugh so hard!!! Also watched The documentary on the 501st legion, and found it to be very entertaining, and even moving. I normally never care about these things, but it's a great docu IM, and GL CLEARLY cares about his fans. I particularly like the ROTS interviews with John Knoll!!! Awesome stuff. The Steven Spielberg animatic of the the Obi Wan/General Grievous fight sequence is INSANE!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() I am glad it wasn't used. It would have been crazy expensive, and way too long, but it sure was a great exercise for him. Lol All in all, I am VERY happy with this set. Is it perfect? No, of course not. Seeing the old Yoda puppet in TESB made me cringe, and wish for the ROTS Yoda, but what ultimately matters the most is the story, and I have a VERY vivid imagination, so I can actually imagine that the puppet is real, but I hope GL will replace it someday. The DNR transfer of TPM is a shame, despite looking 100 times better than the atrocious DVD. The grain and detail in ANH, and TESB looked very natural to me, though I did spot a few spots with DNR applied in ANH, but it was very minor, and not distracting. Black levels could be better in all the movies, which means: They are usually great, but sometimes too bright, sometimes there is crush. However, I can totally live with it. The lighsaber inconsistencies didn't bother me much, and the few boxes around the TIE fighters I saw in TESB passed by quickly enough too, but, of course, I would have liked to see them fixed, since they supposedly went through the movies frame by frame. There are still quite a lot of matte lines visible, and the model work is a bit shaky, but I can live with it. Star Wars on Blu-ray is such a gift! May the force be with us! Can't wait to watch ROTJ tw., and then the whole Saga all over again! |

![]() Glad you are digging it. ![]() I am also really happy with it. I have a lot of gripes, obviously, because of how much I wanted it to deliver, but overall, ![]() I feel like if you had the option to seamlessly branch the OT to watch the UOT or the AOT, the OT would be more or less ideal, even with the Lowry fake grain stuff occasionally being distracting. I found Jedi's picture to vary from really soft to overly sharpened, but apart from the fake grain the other two movies look excellent, especially Empire. For the PT, get rid of the excessive DNR in TPM and AOTC so all 3 movies look as good as 'Sith' and fix Sith's audio so it's as powerful and dynamic as TPM/AOTC and that set would be a grand-slam. As it is, still happy to own it and I'll dig into the special features soon. |
