actually, this is different, in this case there is a release date for each one along with a preorder option. when they are place holders this does not happen, and it says sign up to be notified, etc.

so, 1 of 2 things

1. amazon screwed up and put blu instead of hd
2. amazon/paramount let slip paramount is going blu early

probly 1

If you search on the site, there already is HD DVD versions with cover art for all 3 movies. The blu-ray ones pop up on their own. Something is going on. I am telling you, amazon is letting this one slip out early.

...not if it was accidentally leaked on the UK site it would'nt. They don't update one at the same time as the other site nor is it the same people doing the work on either site..

They never made it to the shops to start with.. and if any did then they were supposed to be sent back again by the stores. It's now "in stock" and available for 1 day amazon prime delivery..
Next is distributed by Entertainment in Video in the UK and not Paramount

I have my doubts if this is true or not, but putting a date up on the site could suggest something.

Amazon Serial ID Number I believe.

Completely internal, it means that there's stub for it in their Inventory Control system. Doesn't mean a whole lot.

Anycase, don't take it as more than a mistake or accident until other stuff crops up. After all, certain titles have found there way to Amazon without any real proof . Could also be that some clerk at Amazon saw news blips about Paramount and Universal going to release on Blu again 'soon' and decided to be 'helpful', without really doing alot of research into the matter .

UPDATE 1: 2 more titles have been added to amazon: Failure to Launch and Freedom Writers.

UPDATE 2: One of the members on this site was helpful enough to contact amazon about the listings and he got the following reply:

"We have checked our website and confirm that the DVDs you are
mentioned are scheduled to release in March.

Our editorial staff are constantly working on increasing the information we provide about each item as it becomes available to us. However, the information currently displayed on the product's information page is all that has so far been made available to us from the manufacturer."

I think there is too much being read into this. Best to take a crate of salt and a glass of water with this and to call the doctor in the morning.

Warner own a lot of distribution rights to Paramount movies in UK, as do other European publishers. Are we sure Paramount has distribution rights to these movies here? I checked imdb but they didn't list UK distribution.

play.com has all the suspect titles on the same dates but only for HD DVD.

For example: http://www.play.com/DVD/HD%20DVD/4-/...searchsource=0

Amazon UK has them all only for Blu-ray.

They are all officially scheduled for release only on HD DVD.

Amazon should have these titles up for pre-order on HD DVD but they don't.

Conclusion: My guess is that it's a mistake by Amazon
