ASIN = Amazon Standard ID Number. It's basically their internal SKU.

I wouldn't put too much weight behind this. However, consider that when retailers get announcements of new products, they are not what you might think. The distributors (usually not the publishers) send a list of SKU's and titles/details in a standard industry format via fax or e-mail to the retailer, who then imports it into their database. So it's not like Amazon gets a press release and then someone manually keys this into the system.

So, this could either be (a) nothing more than some distributor accidentally typing "Blu-ray" instead of HD-DVD before sending it off to Amazon, or (b) it was no accident and Anchor Man will be one of the first of Dreamworks Blu's.

Amazon UK has them all only for Blu-ray.

They are all officially scheduled for release only on HD DVD.

Amazon should have these titles up for pre-order on HD DVD but they don't.

Conclusion: My guess is that it's a mistake by Amazon
Aren't they all already out on HD DVD? I know Anchorman (since I have it), Coming to America, and Trading Places are. Or are the release dates different for the UK?

I don't know about Trading Places being a new release... I already have it. maybe they are just preparing to release their stocks that were already built up before they crapped on us from a big height.

If so, then it certainly shows all the FUD about Paramount destroying their Blu-ray stock up for what it is.

BTW... Trading Places is quite decent piccy quality... Full Screen 16:9 ratio.

If you have Trading Places, it will be a US import, just like mine. It was never release in the UK, to the best of my knowledge.

Can't remember where I got it... so your probably right. I know I had Black Rain on order (it was cancelled when they chose a somewhat $h1tty format), so I know I imported that one.

I had to import both Trading Places and Coming To America, due to not finding them anywhere in the UK.

Amazon UK are incompetent with their release dates. They have dates for things that don't match other web sites, and occasionally list items that don't exist or were cancelled.

But, I would be great if it were true. Here's hoping.

I just want to get my grubby paws on the Blu-ray version of this!!!

Star Trek : The Original Series - Season 1 Digitally Remastered

RRP of the HDDVD version is £120.99 (thats approx $234 US)... but apparently Paramount doesn't want my money - if they did, they would release it on a format that has a future. (Blu-ray)

Same here... I was looking forward to this title before they pulled the plug. I just hope the poor HD-DVD sales haven't killed off any Blu release.

Unfortunately I wouldn't be surprised. Probably took a big loss from that and might not want to risk it on Blu-ray, thinking it's HD Media in general to blame.

I hope it's real. They got the retail and discounted price, and available for pre-order already.

Now this, is a placehoder:

I meant to show the placeholder title, and how it works. Please ignore the format. I'll look for other titles if that bothers you so much.

I just got excited ... then my hopes were dashed on the cruel rocks of reality .
