A trailer is just a commercial to me. I can do without them.

We got the trailers on the DVD releases, so most of us are good i'm sure...

And ya'll know that there will be the inevitable Bluray RE-release. I mean, c'mon;
6+ VHS releases, 2 or 3 laserdisc editions, 2 (different) DVD editions (plus 3 reboxes, and an episode I and II combo package coming in at 6 DVD releases)...

I'm selling all the DVDs so I'm not good. It's not that hard to pull an Alien Anthology boxset with all previous extras, including the trailers. And I already gave up on the hope to have 1080p trailers in every package.

It's incredible that in 2011 only Criterion gives us stellar packages in every release with great transfers + great extras and trailers in HD. Even the extras that are native SD they upscale them. It's not THAT hard.

I know I'm pulling a comment from September to respond to here, but this thread seems to be pretty quiet anyway.

I dug out my old version of From SW to Jedi last night and watched it. I think there's a pretty simple reason why it wasn't included.

There's a pretty long section (maybe 10 minutes out of 60) that goes on about the band in Jabba's palace. It starts off by essentially saying that Lucas was disappointed with the 1977 cantina and used this 1983 opportunity to really do it the way he wanted.

It then spends a ton of time on Sy Snootles and all of the work that went into the creation of the puppet and the choreography of the musical number.

Work that was blown away entirely by the 1997 special edition. (Where Lucas got what he really, really wanted apparently.)

Essentiallly, it spends a lot of time showing what hard work went into stuff that ultimately is no longer in the film. I'm guessing that's why it got the ax.

I recently upgraded my display from a 60" SXRD to 64" Samsung plasma D8000 (I will be returning the Samsung because of an issue, but that is besides my point here). While the Star Wars discs looked "Pretty decent" on my SXRD they are jaw dropping on the Samsung. The detail in the original trilogy was the biggest shocker - considerably more than I realized. Grant you, every Blu-ray looks better on the Samsung, but I have to give the Star Wars Blu-rays more credit than I originally did. These look very good!

I always wondered why they never explained why Voldermort couldn't just make more horcruxes in the movies...

oh sorry, wrong thread. I was getting threads mixed up between which ones probably should be stickied, as opposed to those that actually are.

If Clone Commander Cody heard that he'd be very upset!

I think if LF decided to include the trailers, they'd just slap em' on in 480p anyway.

[Show spoiler]Samuel L. Jackson: Highest-Grossing Actor of All Time

Samuel L. Jackson tops list of highest-grossing actors. (Getty)
Darren Franich of Entertainment Weekly is reporting that the Guinness Book of World Records has declared seminal actor Samuel L. Jackson the highest-grossing actor of all time. The bulk of Jackson's estimated $7.2 billion gross comes from big franchise films where he had supporting roles.

Franich writes:

Jackson has been simply omnipresent for almost two decades now. Yes, there are plenty of horrible films on his IMDB page -- The Man, Formula 51, freaking Basic. On one hand, I want to point you to the great Jackson performances: His cerebral villain in Jackie Brown, his fascinating geek-malcontent in Unbreakable, his freaked-out cop in the underrated The Negotiator. But really, the greatness of Jackson lies within the smorgasbord. His mere presence makes bad movies feel more self-aware than they should -- recall his speech in Deep Blue Sea, or the way he single-handedly turned Snakes on a Plane into the first great Hollywood meme.

Say what you will, but Samuel L. Jackson gives his all to movie roles, including understated performances in Eve's Bayou and The Red Violin. It is no surprise that he would be the highest-grossing actor of all time, because quite simply, he is one of the best actors of his time.

Come on boys, so close to 2000! I can taste it!

Everyone has been well-behaved lately so I don't imagine we will lose pages to deleted posts.

Star Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaars.

I've watched the set twice thus far.
