Default Favorite Stupid Star Wars Episode I-III Line

Because they have so many more than the original 3.

One of mine would be

"From my point of view, the Jedi are evil!" - Anakin

Dark Lords of the Sith should never say 'from my point of view' - that was trying to bring in Obi Wan wayyy too much from Episode VI.

"The day we stop believing democracy will work is the day we lose it." - Queen Jamillia, EPII: AOTC

Really? Who writes this crap.

There was way more memorable dialog regarding the political state of the SW universe in the the 3 or 4 minutes of EP4 when the Imperial commanders are in the meeting room (when Vader force-chokes one of them) than all the prequels put together.

I'm tired of prequel bashing. All six movies are the consistent work and artistic message of one man.

My favorite line is "Your apprentice, Skywalker, will be."

Let me give you two...both uttered by Padme'

Quote:
Anakin, you're breaking my heart! And you're going down a path I cannot follow!

and

Quote:
Hold me, like you did by the lake on Naboo; so long ago when there was nothing but our love. No politics, no plotting, no war.

That's some Oscar winning screenwriting right there eh George?

Your kidding right?

The prequals are just rehashes of the original story line from the original star wars with the main character becoming bad instead of good.

The acting is corny as well as all the CGI is over the top.

Padme in Revenge of the Sith (to Anakin): "You're a good person. Don't do this".

"Uh oh...Buzz Droids..." Star Wars III.

One thing that irked me about the latter Star Wars scripts is that George felt he had to spell out for you (specifically name) what was happening on the screen...especially when an alien or robotic thing hit the screen...left nothing to the imagination.

I guess he wanted to make sure we knew what that thing was called so there would be no question when we went to buy what Hasbro made...

Speaking of robotic...Hayden's acting.

I hear you on Hayden's acting. The thing that I would like to know is if this was done on purpose or if George Lucas wanted it this way? I've seen other movies with Hayden and he has not been as bad, so I ask myself what the fud? on his Star Wars performance. Were they going for the over the top look here?

I remember seeing an interview with Natalie Portman just after EPII released, and the question was asked about Lucas' directing style. She said he didn't really direct them, he only did exactly 6 takes of every scene and that was it. Of course, she said it in a manner that was PC as to not disrespect Lucas, but her point was clear.

I agree w/you re: the quality of writing in 1-3 vs. 4-6. so to answer your question, I would say that ALL of the lines were stupid, and NONE were a "favorite". George Lucas is a hack.

+1. It may be the worst line in any movie ever. Seriously, how the hell did that make it on the final screenplay.

I tend to think that many of these, "no shit sherlock", super obvious lines, are put in for the younger audiences.

Like in Spider-man 2:

Mary Jane, "You do love me."
Peter, "I do."
Mary Jane, "Even though you said you didn't."

YES YOU DUMB WH*RE!!!!! That line kills me every time. But maybe they had to leave it in to clarify with the 10 year olds.

i.e.
"From my point of view, the Jedi are evil!" - Anakin

Seriously?... did we need to verbally announce what is obviously already known... and make it cheesy to boot?

That's my two cents on it...

"Anakin, you're breaking my heart!" - Padme

A great line used for several months around my house. Absolutely over-acted.

Default George Lucas raped my childhood.

Episodes 1-3 honestly seem like really GREAT movies that are being re-played through the mind of an 11 year-old screenwriter wannabe as he describes it to his prepubescent friends.

The whole premise is really good, but the dialog was crap, the acting was HORRIBLE and WAY over-the-top (except for Samuel L, Liam and Yoda), and there was too much unnecessary fluff that could've been done without (Jar Jar, pod racing, midichlorians, immaculate conception, etc).

"There was no father. I carried him. I raised him. I can't explain what happened." (Makes you wonder how many times the Mos Eisley WIC office hears THAT excuse!)

Hopefully one day soon, GL will die from his beard-hair growing back into his skull and someone else will helm LucasFilm so we can get some REAL prequels made. Not to mention I'd love the Timothy Zahn books made into film.

Star wars is fantastic either way you slice it. the greatest series ever made and highest grossing as well. yes lucas has his flaws, but he is also worth billions from this series he created. cant take that away from him.

i do agree that the whole fight scene with maul could have been longer and more detailed saber fighting. he was a bad a$$ sith lord, too bad an appretice took him down

You know the funny thing is, as much as we complain about the movies, we will all more than likely be buying them as soon as they come out on blu.
