I have it on blu-ray disc and the sound will rattle the walls of your home theater.

Here's one reviewers take on the great lossless audio on the disc and I agree with it:

The Audio: Rating the Sound:
'Man on Fire' features an aggressive DTS HD 5.1 Master Lossless Audio surround track that does a great job reproducing both the roar of pandemonium and the subtleties of a whisper. While the film’s first act offers mostly quiet ambiance and crisp conversations, chaos quickly moves in to dominate the soundfield, making dynamics the star of the show. Commanding LFE rumbles mingle with balanced treble tones to produce a natural and powerful soundfield. When I felt the impact of gunshots or explosions in the center of my chest, I knew this track was out for blood. Moreover, I was impressed with the number of individual elements present in the rear speakers -- the sound designers managed to hurl immersive acoustics and explosive sounds across the back of my home theater throughout the film.
in a friendly spirit, (cause i don't want this to turn nasty and you know what i mean...) allow me to retort:

blu-ray audio review (the same person who reviewd Man on Fire) of Taken:

"As expected, the first-class visuals on this disc are complimented by another reference-grade DTS-HD MA 5.1 lossless soundtrack from Fox. Taken features audio that consistently emanates from every corner of the listening area, and with a crispness and clarity that matches the very best Blu-ray currently has to offer. Not only does information pour from every speaker, but it sounds incredibly lifelike throughout. An early segment at a pop concert reveals strong bass, even if the sound plays as somewhat muffled as it is heard in the background and at a distance from the primary action. The track also creates a fine blend of realistic ambience in many scenes. A restaurant scene in chapter four reveals an array of small nuances scattered about the soundstage that creates a pleasing, sonically inviting environment. Parts of the score take on a hard-rock feel, each of these devastating the primary front speakers, the sound aggressively spilling out with clarity and deep, chest-rattling bass. Gunshots also ring out with hard-hitting power, sounding clear and distinct one from the other, while explosions positively rock the listening area. Taken also delivers pitch-perfect dialogue reproduction. Once again, 20th Century Fox has delivered a power-packed soundtrack for a new release film. Taken may not set the bar higher than it already is, but it definitely reaches the current pinnacle of lossless audio presentations for home consumption."

i still think both movies have great sound; i still give the slightest edge to Taken but for acting i give it to Man on Fire.

For those who can't decide.. just watch this..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5TM0q...ature=youtu.be
(foreign audio/dialogue on top of english audio/dialogue but its the best clip i could find online)

Then compare it to Liam taking his daughter to see a pop singer at the end of Taken, or even the cheeseball scene of him coming in at the last minute to save his daughter from losing her "innocence".. heh.. a virginal teen.. as if.

If you can watch the endings of both films and still feel taken is in the same league, or even better than MOF.. well more power to you.

I have never missed a performance. The same also goes for Dakota. When Dakota Fanning received the script for Man On Fire she was the same age I was when the 1987 script was written, which added some "wow factor".

Man on Fire is a better story. Denzel For the Win! But Taken has better action. Both movies are very well done but I have to give the edge to Man on Fire. Sorry Liam.

Although the plot was simple, kidnapped girl, guy does whatever it takes to get her back, but there was a lot I didn't understand from Man On Fire. Where as Taken, similar story, but I understood everything in that one, so I'll go with Taken.

What was so confusing about Man on Fire? It definitely has more layers than Taken and the characters are a lot more complex but I found it pretty straightforward myself.

Taken was so predictable and cliche... If Liam wasn't in this movie i dont think half the people would like it.. he has a huge following

It really is. I'm actually surprised to see how close this poll is.

Don't get me wrong though I like Taken but its pretty much a straight up by-the-numbers pursuit thriller. Very much a product of the Bourne era of action films

Man on Fire on the other hand is not only one of the best Revenge films ever (and quite frankly everything a Punisher film should be - take notes Marvel) but at it's core its an emotional story about redemption and sacrifice. Its just a much deeper film.

Too bad BOTH wasn't an option. I would've voted that way.

love both but prefer Taken. in MoF the photography can be nauseating at times, as can Marc Anthonys character.

Except that defeats the purpose of the poll. Man on Fire OR Taken.

Ohhhhhh, I see. I DON'T like both.
Thanks for clearing that up for me. Next time I need someone to tell me what I like and don't like, I'll be sure to ask you.

You were 100% correct on everything you wrote (even about taken), you deserve a prize and $50,000 dollars

Ohhhhhhh, I see. You've completely missed the point of the thread. Its not asking whether you like both or not its asking you which you like better. Any time you need something cleared up don't hesitate to ask.

Whatever the case is, I think both movies along with The Man from Nowhere belong in any serious movie collector's collection.
