Do they keep the HD DVDs out in the open in hope that they are stolen? It would be easier to write off a loss to theft than getting them to move through sales. Perhaps they should put the players on the curb and pretend they are for sale.

My walmart originally had a pitiful selection locked up as well.

They expanded a bit, and had an endcap with a bunch of high def titles, and still had the locked up case as well.

Now the endcap is mostly empty (I think somebody bought them all, lol...) I haven't checked back to see if they restocked it (they don't very often)

Just went to Wal Mart and they had the HD "section" locked up. I asked the hourly there why and he said peeps were stealing them even with the spider on (the alarm).

They lock down in the ghetto, but Obama or Hillary whoever wins the Presidency in 2008 will help the ghetto people prosper with increased welfare handouts so the ghetto will disappear and all our blu-ray movies will not be locked down....

Gosh I'm getting double dipped on..... I'm a taxpayer.... a working taxpayer....

The Wal-Mart where I live has all of them out in the open in the middle of an aisle. I guess my place isn't as ghetto as I thought. They have 3 racks of blu-ray and one of the HD-DUD (which by the way NEVER sells) the blu-rays are always well picked through. (or stollen I guess lol)

Funny, my local Best Buy has started to encase the Blu rays?

My walmart puts up all dvds in lock down case, all new releases, all old releases.

Exception is cheap dvds or dvds they don't care about.

Gotta be careful with that, you can get in more trouble than the person doing the shoplifting. I used to be Target security, and the only reason I was ever allowed to touch a customer is if they were a danger to other customers.

Here every store whether it be wal-mart, target or best buy keeps them out on the floor.

Basicly the only dvds not on lockdown are the ones at 7 dollars or less, anything else are in special lockdown cabinets. Mine has two sections of blu-ray one next to the new release blu-ray and then one in a hi-def lockdown cabinet that is connected to nothing so a standalone cabinet, but I think it can be moved...

They seem to like to alternate between using both cabinets to only using the potentially mobile securcart.

Theres another walmart further away that puts all audio cds, pc games, video games, movies into secure cabinets, but I question the effectivness of the cabinets, they also put some aqua proxy glue a single tube in a security cabinet, stuff used on aquariums to glue things together, which cost 3 dollars a tube, my aquarium friend got upset after waiting 30 minutes of no manager show, he poped the case in front of me, apparently they can be just pulled apart with slight effort....

I then expect walmart secret police to ambush him as he went to purchase the proxyglue... nothing happened. Paying the 6 dollars for two tubes and heading out.

I then expected that while we were heading towards the car we would be ambushed by fbi, swat etc.. nothing happened.

I then expected Swat to ram the car he was driving as snipers deploy off of helicopters... nothing happened.

---

I was at a Target that put a lock on blu-ray recordable discs, not in a case but actually the metal hook had a lock on it to prevent people from purchasing the blu-ray blank media. It was a package of (1) 25 gb. That was funny as heck.

Local Wally World has all the HD DVD's out in the open on an end cap in the back, but the Blu-Rays are in 2 of the Locked up cases. (Actually has a pretty good selection, and the New Releases are usually on time if not a week early).

I asked the clerk why the HD DVD's weren't locked up as well and she said nobody even bothers stealing them!

Gimme all your blu-ray, put it in the bag DO IT! DO IT! (Starsky style)

Man you gotta get your hands on movies, flip through them, hold a few while you think on it! It's just wrong to lock them up! I probably wouldn't shop for blu's anywhere they did that unless it was a real bargain.
