Got your PM's. Awesome info. I sent you a response too so check the last one I sent.

You wouldn't happen to have any final style Avengers posters would you?
Yeah after I typed all those messages and linked each poster I had to take a long break from typing so I went out and grabbed dinner. I don't text or have a smart phone so when I am out I give my hands a break from typing as I type 80 wpm and it can be draining.

Curious who the seller is, we can discuss over PM. Regarding Avengers, not many dealers got them, they were very difficult to get, I do have the international final style for the film, but not the domestic. Everything is the same, except the wording at the bottom on the international states "In Cinemas Soon" and on the domestic it says "May 4th"...that's the only difference.

Hey guys, I don't know if this is your bag, but The Star Trek Store has some prints up for sale. So I thought I'd give you a heads up.

Don't know if anyone else saw this, but Drew Struzan will be back to do new artwork for Mondo. Back to the Future, Jurassic Park, Lord of the Rings..

Full article is here

Quick Edit: Mondos Twitter also just stated there will be around 15 new posters dropped during SDCC. Hopefully nothing I want

I concur! Yeesh... I'd have a problem even if I wanted two of them. I hope they drop them early, I believe they dropped one early last year during comicon. I love the early drops, I actually have a chance at those.

That is another reason to avoid eBay as most do not know how to describe a poster, and remember most of the stuff sold on eBay are from people who work at a theater or know someone who does, and in most cases, the posters shipped to theaters often don't arrive in near-mint/mind condition. When you see an auction on eBay for a poster and someone mentions "edge wear" its a good chance that it came from a theater since the posters shipped to theaters from the studio distribution hubs are often poorly package, because they aren't intended to be sold, but rather to be placed in a theater frame to promote a film. Hopefully the seller makes things right, sounds like they didn't advertise the scratches all over the poster and didn't package it up properly.

Struzan coming out of retirement is a welcome relief, the man is a God in the poster arena, I was hoping he would start doing more actual one sheet movie poster art, but he is only the most sought after of artists to do Mondo prints and it sounds like he is on board which will only help Mondo, not hurt it. The downside is his prints will probably command $250 or more, his talent isn't cheap and rightfully so.

I believe he is doing one for SDCC, the rumor has it is the Gunslinger character based on The Dark Tower series of novels by Stephen King. Just consider that a big rumor. Also I think Olly Moss has a Batman and Bane set of prints too. Regardless, people will certainly be flocking to the Mondo booth.

Also, Mark Englert, who recently did the Walking Dead print and sold out rather quickly will have an exclusive SDCC print at the Gallery 1988 booth and it will be from the film "Alien". I think only 100 are being made, not sure though. Mark is a great guy and his prints are becoming more and more popular.

I believe some will be SDCC exclusives meaning you have to actually be there at the convention to get one, while others may be available online. Hopefully they take time into consideration, and not drop them at 7:30am like they did the Captain America Stout one last year.

I was about to post these. I got all excited when I read that there were prints, then I saw them. I'm not into them at all. Oh well. I'm still hoping to get a fantom event poster for the 25th anniversary. Haven't seen any on eBay as of yet. If anyone's seen any please post the info.

Chuck, I think your best bet will be to call Fantom Events directly but be prepared to be turned down. The reason being is that Fantom only creates a very limited number of these posters for the screenings. They aren't a big Hollywood studio so they don't produce thousands and thousands of them. It doesn't hurt to give them a call and just tell them you are a really big Star Trek fan and if you could somehow get one of those posters for your collection. They may have a few extra around their office but I have spoken to them in the past and they have told me they generally don't print extras, only enough that they need, but you never know, it doesn't hurt to ask.

Another option is if you see one in a theater, ask to speak to a manager and inquire if you could either have it or purchase it when they are done with it and see what they say. I don't think you will see any on eBay, but you never know, stranger things can happen. When First Blood was re-released for one-night only and for one screening time only back in 2008, Fathom Events handled that, and they actually made a full-size double-sided movie poster for it featuring the original Struzan artwork. I was lucky enough to get one, and only one, but I have never seen one anywhere else, but that doesn't mean one won't pop on eBay or elsewhere someday.

Here is an image of it in case you or anyone else wants to see it:

A bane and batman set by Olly?!

I received the Nightmare Before Christmas print this morning, the tube look like it had taken a good beating by something. Thankfully the print is all in one piece, just a few waves that should disappear with framing. Pictures to come.

EDIT: If anyone picked up the Variant from Sideshow Collectibles (maybe even #140 ) and is interested in selling it, let me know.

I believe some stuff for SDCC has been announced unofficially, I thought I remember reading that Moss was going to be doing a Batman print and a Bane print to celebrate the release of Dark Knight Rises. I am sure there will be plenty of other surprises. Mark Englert's "Alien" print entitled "You Are My Lucky Star" is official, it will go on sale at 1pm at the Gallery 1988 booth at SDCC, with an edition of less than 150 at a cost of $50. You can view more info about it here:

Any suggestions on framing a 12x36 print? I don't think that's a very common frame size but I'd like to see if anyone else has any ideas or experience.

A ready-made frame would be the cheapest route for you, I would check with Michaels Arts & Crafts and Aaron Brothers Framing if you have them and just see what they have in that size. If you find something you like, check out the Sunday newspaper ad sections as most of the time they each have 40% off any single one item coupons so a $30 frame would run you $18. If they dont have anything you can always try online or inquire with a professional frame shop as they could custom make one for you.

Yeah I haven't been to Hobby Lobby yet, just sort of bored and looking online and it's not really a common frame size. Wondered if anyone here had any art that size framed and how they did it. I'm thinking even a 16x40 frame with matting would look cool.

True you could always go with a bigger frame but matte the piece. I remember a framer telling me once it's best not to go beyond 24x36 when you matte something, which means most Mondo prints could be matted, and I think that would work out for you.

How much you looking to spend? "12x36 wood frame" on ebay brought up a decent amount of hits for custom frames. $30 +

I'll be taking my Nightmare poster in tomorrow for framing. I was quoted 220 w/ matte or 170 w/o matte for a 12x36 over the phone. This was a custom frame job with the 'masterpiece' glass.

Though this week Michael's has a 60% +10$ off coupon which should bring that price down significantly. I'll report back tomorrow with a final price.
