No I'm not I just don't like it when people complain about the technical flaws of the set and of the blu-ray's in general. If you don't like my comments about the complete saga on blu-ray then don't respond to them. I chose to enjoy the blu-ray's of the star wars saga. If others don't enjoy it that's fine.

You don't need to explain how you changed your tune? Just admit you've been posting in an irrational matter and it'll be forgotten.

I'm having second guesses with this release. On one hand, I want Star Wars but on the other, I'm very cynical about this particular release given the issues with the edits and all that crap. The more I think about it, the less I am enthusiastic about it. It also seems just too pricey at the moment. Then you have the many comments by posters here that do indeed make legitimate criticisms,. I love Star Wars, hell I even love the prequels but I don't know if my love for the franchise triumphs over my now cynical look at this release.

If you love all 6 of them (except the alterations), why not buy them? Yes, I can understand some are more allergic to the alterations than me but still, they represent maybe 5% of each movie (and the Empire Strikes Back has very few changes). And no, I'm not going to be upset and I will stand for it if you don't like them .

You can of course wait for a next release but that will still be years from now (which could be 2017, when ROTJ has been released in 3D). Even though some people make it out as if Star Wars has been released in dozens of versions, those were usually packaging or extra's related (removed, so lower cost boxsets could be released). For the DVD's, the only significant content addition was with those not-so Limited Editions which contained the theatrical editions.

Whilst the video portion is certainly not perfect and I do sometimes wonder how it would have looked had it used a new 4K master, they do look quite good.

On another note, watched ESB yesterdah and it surprised me suddenly that Vader's lightsabers in quite some shots does have the white inner core (same for Luke's). I still don't get why they fixed some shots and left others, following only seconds later, untouched. This is especially disappoiting since the ANH and ROTJ duels now do have correct lightsabers

There's more product placement there than in a Michael Bay movie.

You shouldn't complain about the dry bread. Just take what the restaurant gives you. I enjoy the dry bread at the fancy restaurant. Sure, it's not perfect, but it's the only bread they offer and I enjoy it at the fancy restaurant. Any of the complaints about the bread are just snooty connoisseurs who will never be satisfied with anything. I won't stand for these complaints. I eat the dry bread at the fancy restaurant while wearing a nice suit. If others don't like the dry bread, fine, but stop arguing about it and if you don't like my comments about the bread then don't respond.

That IS the best analogy about people being anal about Star Wars.

Let me guess: the flies in the soup come free-of-charge?

You may not like the complaints, but guess what? Restaurants don't exist for the purpose of feeding the chef's ego, and it's more than just allowing people to go out for dinner. It's about providing a memorable experience and to ensure repeat business through customer satisfaction. While some people are perfectly content with drivel masquerading as fine dining, more discerning diners will either complain to the chef, restaurant host or manager, or decide not to return, not to mention advise their friends to refrain from patronizing your establishment. Can a business survive solely on patrons that are accustomed to bad food and deplorable customer service? Perhaps, but it's not conducive to growth and even some of those mistreated customers will walk away eventually.

How fitting is the restaurant analogy? It's perfectly apt when discussing George and the SW films.

Why can't they? I mean, I don't fall into that group as I own the set and, while I don't entirely care for some of the changes, I don't really care enough to let it ruin the movies for me. But at the same time, why CAN'T people use it as a reason not to buy the set or watch the movies?

This is where the analogy falls apart. The menu changed and some don't like it and cry about it constantly. Others don't mind the changes, and others prefer the changes. Yet the ones who don't like the changes won't stop crying about it and don't understand and get angry at those who don't mind or don't like the changes.

The answer: Don't like it? EAT SOMEPLACE ELSE.

But when that restaurant is the only restaurant in the country that has a license to serve bread, and the bread they serve is incredibly dry, stale, and poor quality, then what?

The only people "crying" are the ones who can't process the mere idea that not everything George Lucas does is worthy of blind loyalty. The rest of us are being rational.

I admire kenkraly's passion, but his muddled, incoherent, repetitive responses pretty much embody the apologist stance and how silly it is.

Anybody remember when last year people were emailing Lucasfilm about the changes and color corrections, and the only one who "received" a response was kenkraly? And that response said that the colors were corrected, the master was new, etc.? Yet we never saw a screenshot or any evidence of that email?

In an attempt to quell the valid, well-founded skepticism of the upcoming blu-rays he blatantly lied about something. That people were so bold to see all the evidence pointing toward the transfers being the same as the 2004 ones bothered Lucas apologists so much that one of them lied just to derail the discussion. Lucas loyalists could not simply stand other people having non-idealistic views of him.

This is fundamentally irrational behavior. What does Lucas have on you guys?
