Interesting. I was thinking about this today, and Avatar 2 using 48 fps. Twice as much data as 24 standard fps for live action cinema.

Twilight Zone had a used car episode that seemed to play in full speed like a soap opera, and it didn't seem as professional as the other episodes because of it.

If it's anything to go on, the theatrical Hobbit 3D and 2D trailers all seem to resemble classic 24 fps motion.

But like anything, 48 fps will take some getting used to for audience acceptance.
