Pixar's Shorts Volume 1. Can't go wrong with any one of the shorts. I highly recommend Lifted and For The Birds.

I find this funny. I haven't seen Superbad on blu myself, but the movie is mastered in HD. I don't believe it was shot in HD. Which basically means they upconverted the movie and then put it on the disc instead of having your blu-ray upconvert it, although a little more goes into it than that. This is one I'll be picking up on blu regardless. One of the best comedies in awhile.

Truthfully I didn't like 30 days at ALL, just watched it today & I'll give it that the picture was clear but the whole movie was too DARK, I understand that it's what they were going for to a point, But at times it was ridiculous!! And I would think maybe I need to turn up the brightness but every other BD I watch looks phenomenal!

I always found the scene in ratatouille when the old lady shoots at them & all the rats run away.

Default Sunshine

The "Mercury passing across the sun" scene from Sunshine is the best Blu Ray scene going. Totally hypnotic.

Too dark? I've watched it twice and that thought never crossed my mind. I thought it looked great and I didn't feel a need to adjust any settings. It seemed perfectly fine to me.

Yeah, that scene is great and it nice to see someone use the word "hypnotic" to describe it. I felt that way about a lot of the scenes (picture/score) in the movie. Very hypnotic/mesmerizing. I think that's part of the reason I'm so obsessed with the movie.

Underworld - any scene with Kate Beckinsale in leather!
Apocalypto - when reaching top of sacrificial tower seeing the leaders
The Fountain - the final scene with Hugh Jackman and all the CG

Dude, 300 was intentionally meant to look like that. They aded grain and noise to the picture and cranked up the contrast to get a certain look. Its only been discussed about 300 times .

Anyway, I love the scene in Underworld evolution in the beginning where the corpses come to life. Crank that up and enjoy .

Just wondering how you guys take such amazing photos.
I have a Nikon D80 thats capable of taking photos such as those, how ever I can't get the right lighting to show off my set up.
do you pause the movie and then take the photo.
if I have the curtians open its to bright and washes out my tv with them closed the camera acts like its at night and need a lover exposure. and if I put my flash on again washed out the picture.
