So. Many of you know I was really stoked to pick up my KDS-55A3000 from Fry's today for the heavily discounted price of $1259. According to the salesperson, it was just a show model and their last unit. When I bought it, they had to take it right off the showroom floor and wrap it up in bubble wrap. We got home, unwrapped it, turned it on, and immediately popped in a variety of blus to notice the difference over my old set and the quality of the unit. It had definitely exceeded me expectations.

But there was one catch: the remote wasn't working. "Dead batteries" I thought to myself. So I flipped over the remote to swap out the batteries when I see a big "REFURBISHED" sticker on the back of it. I don't know about other states, but it is illegal to sell a refurbished product in the state of California without notifying the consumer. The remote changes the volume, but does performs no other functions. Everything else I need to use to controls built into the side of the TV.

I'm going to tear someone a new ass tomorrow after work at Fry's. I'm going to demand AT LEAST a high quality home theater universal remote to make up for the fact that I was just got completely screwed over. Or maybe a couple hundred dollars in gift cards. I wouldn't have even cared so much if they had just TOLD ME.
a couple hundered dollars lol, for a 5 dollar remote, if i was the manager i would laugh at you. and about the illegal part in california i never heard of this when did they start that ???
