Anyone notice any COD4 issues - Blu-ray Forum

several times tonight, I unloaded the mag from my G36 into a couple of people, and nothing happened, also some are running super fast.....not sure if it's connection issues or cheats.....I hope it's connection issues and not cheats......cheaters are punks and I loathe them, it takes all the fun out of a game

once . in single play .in the end , one of my teammates didn't die and kept playing and shot the last three guys and finished the game himself .

I think what your experienceing is lag my friend it happems to the best of us.

But on a serious note when a match starts press select and on the left it will say ping, I believe with bars(like a cell phone) that is your connection strength to the current server your on. If it's in the yellow your gonna experience some lag and you'll notice it if your killed, watch the kill cam and notice how much further your enemy seemed then what you saw on your screen. I know it sucks but there's no much anyone can do about it.

If you are using a wireless connection, check to see if it is 70 or higher. I noticed if mine drops to fifty, it is really lagging.

the last time I played a few days ago, I had no lag (you can tell if you run, and it's not a fluid motion) but anyways, I would get someone in the sights with my sniper, hold my breath, squeeze the trigger, expecting the "tink" of a head-shot, and nothing...... I started to just shoot people in the chest/back, and couldn't figure out what was up..... I played about 3 games, and it was terrible.... I was doing awful because I couldn't hit the broad-side of a barn. I even locked in on other snipers that were laying down on top of buildings etc.... and they weren't moving, or looking in my direction, and I just couldn't hit them!!!! I left after the third or fourth game, went to the lobby, and re-entered another game (with different host/players, etc) , and my "aim" was back..... Like I said, it wasn't lagging, so I couldn't figure out why my aim was so off. The frustrating part was when someone was on the ground, and I would take a shot from on-top of a building, and then they'd aim at me, and I would even get another shot off, but they'd kill me because I was expecting at least ONE of the two-three shots I squeezed off to find their target!

Oh well.

oh man this happend to me yesterday...its lag...i checked my bars on the select button and i kept getting killed so i called it a night after two or three matches...its best so you don't mess up your kill/death ration...

It could be a cheater and possibly not. Last night my buddy shot this dude from behind with the shotty and didn't die and we had a good connection. It sucks man, Infinity Ward really needs dedicated servers and ban cheaters if there's any cause it's really frustrating. You would think with the revenue coming from COD4, things would be much better than they currently are. Great game with sometimes crappy online play.

Actually I believe that the ps3 version is dedicated servers, with a player picked as a host of the server. I'm not to sure but I believe this is how COD4 is set up.

I will let Calen, a programmer for Infinity Ward that worked on Call of Duty 4, explain why the above is ever so blatantly false.

We do not have dedicated, hosted, no-client servers on PS3 or 360. The PC game comes with a dedicated server executable for people to run if they want to set up a dedicated server, but the console game does not.

We choose the best host from the people in the match lobby, based on a ton of factors including bandwidth and everyone's ping to the host (it's got no relation to who was first in the lobby or anything like that.) Then that host serves as the server for that match. It's not "peer to peer" in the sense that clients don't run their own part of the server and send that gamestate around to each other over the net (which is what I personally think of when I hear "peer to peer".) But it's also not "dedicated" in the sense that most folks think of it." - Calen @ NeoGAF

No dedicated servers for either console. My buddy has COD4 on his 360 and he experiences real similar problems to mine. It looks like only PC has dedicated but us console owners are assed out. It sucks because lag and bullshit kills the experience. I hate it.

i have an issue that i havent seen an answer to on any forums yet...... when i enter stages vacant,showdown, and strike...i get stuck on "awaiting connection" ....then my ps3 freezes...and i have to turn off and restart by turning the powr off....it only happens on those 3 stages....any ideas?

Ive been having many more issues as of late.. Connection issues to server.. lag... I emptied about 20 rounds into someone when they were running at me and he ended up knifing me from far away at that.

BUNCH of empty rooms when I connect.. something happened somewhere..

I am sorry to say this is only for the 360. Host Migration was never in the PS3 update, but isnt just the PS3, 360 also has tons of issues...

Last night was by far the laggiest night I have ever played, and I have 8 and a half days of playing time. I would get knifed from about 6 or 7 feet away.

Check your disk it might be scratched, it happened to me so i got my disk turned then i could play all the maps again.

The main problem I seem to have is 'game freeze'....it seem random...during game play, the game will just freeze and I couldn't do much about it...I used to power the system off but now instead I just hold down the PS button. In about 5 to 15 second, the game will respond again (with the 'quit game/turn system off/etc' screen). I cancel this screen to go back out on the game but I'm back on the 'find game' window.

It seems to only crash when I'm have a good round (lots of killing, multiple airsupport, knifing people, etc). Once in a while i will delete the cache memory from teh ps3 in hope that it help. Not very sure if it does or not. well...that's my problem...
