HDCP, High Definintion Digital Content Protection has nothing to do with analog component connections. Whatever the message is doesn't matter, my statement stands. HDCP has nothing to do with whether a player outputs 1080p over component. If a player is designed to output 1080p over component, it is the image constraint token that can stop that, not HDCP. Messages can state whatever is written, it could state the man in moon doesn't permit it, but that won't change the basic fact. HDCP is digital connection copy protection and has nothing whatsoever to do with analog component connections which have no copy protection as far as I know. Again, the ICT or image constraint token is what can be used to prevent any HD resolution over component. I have seen messages regarding HDCP with other players and I don't know why the messages are written as they are. HDCP is designed for use with DVI and HDMI compatible devices and displays.
