I don't have a 1080p TV, but mine is 768p (which is what someone told me) and I see a HUGE difference between upscalled DVD and Blu-Ray - and my screen is 32" - a lot of people said I wouldn't see a huge difference since my screen isn't over 40" but I see it - and I am so happy I switched to Blu-Ray! I don't think you'll be disappointed.
