just wait until Episode 7 comes out, then realize all those whining Trek fans like us were right. can't wait to see that lens flare when the sabers light up.

like I said before, complete it a bad word to use here because there were multiple versions of Star Wars out there so if you really want complete, you would need the 35mm stereo soundtrack, 35mm mono, 70 mm, etc. they probably should have called it "The Complete George Lucas Star Wars Saga" or something similar. meh, revised Star Wars is better than no Star Wars at all.

Hahahahahaha.

The Trek fans who are so numerous that the last few Trek movies before Abrams took over made progressively less money until they weren't even profitable even after they were released on home video?

I'm a huge Trek fan (to me, the qualifier is - "have you been to a convention?" and yes, I have, LOL), and I love the new movies. Like the rest of the general public worldwide (who just made this supposed "stinker" Into Darkness the highest grossing Trek film of all time). It's also got 87% on Rotten Tomatoes - not an easy number to achieve.

So, two things to take from this:

1) Not all big Trek fans feel the same, just some vocal ones who like to cry on the Internet

2) The public overwhelmingly enjoys these films and the number of disgruntled "die hard" Trek-fans comparatively fills a thimble - and all went to see it and probably own it on Blu-ray anyway even though it supposedly was so terrible.

I have no doubt that Abrams will do even better with Star Wars - because he is simply continuing the story and doesn't have to deal with the logistics of rebooting and recasting in the same universe, and loves the original films like the rest of us. I mean, the guy is using 35mm - I'm betting he had to fight for that. Plus, he understands vaginas (Alias, Felicity) so the biggest weakness of the Prequels (aside from the fact no kid on a playground ever said, "Hey, I wonder what Vader was like as a little kid and a snotty teenager?"), the person who should have been the strongest character dying of a "broken heart", won't be repeated. And he knows that vaginas don't eat people, too.

Yeah, could not be looking forward to these films more.

Ah, the "dying of a broken heart" argument again. I swear, I don't really think people truly understand why Lucas went that route with Padme.

Considering the operatic and classical nature of the Prequels, I can understand why it slips past people, that moment.

And enough of the BS about Padme not being a strong character in Episode III. Just another BS argument.

I believe Abrams will do a great Star Wars film. Hes proven to revitalize a franchise (Mission Impossible 3, Star Trek) and has done pretty much solid movies and TV shows throughout his carrer. Many argue his use of lens flares but Spielberg used them all the time. I think Disney should not be telling what goes in and what doesn't since we can end up with a dissapointment of a film. IMO I think Abrams will bring a true star wars films that are on the original trilogy level

I think Abrams and his writers are a better fit to Star Wars than they've been to Star Trek, because Star Wars is all about fun characters and adventure, whereas modern Trek for me was always about deeper-reaching story than the two recent films achieved. But then I was never a fan of the Original Series of Trek either so I'm of a different era in the first place. I don't spend my time whining on the net about the new films though - they have their good points; the first one is actually alright. I really don't think much of Into Darkness but I think that's because the deliberate fan service really spoils what could otherwise have been a good film. That and the plot not making a great deal of coherent sense.

Yeah, that was the problem with "We don't know why. She has lost the will to live'.

It was too sophisticated.

Did they look like amaray cases, or were they in an Alien style cardboard package?

One hard plastic case holds all 6 Disks.
I'll upload the pictures when I get home.

Thanks for the pictures! I'm debating whether to pick this up or not. I've not had SW on blu yet, I've been holding out for the unaltered releases, but with this release I've been considering biting the bullet...

I just don't know if I can get over the Hayden force ghost.

This doesn't bother me as much as it did before the DVD's were released.
It's the GLARING Video Errors that kills me.
That and the Vader "NOOOO" in Jedi.

Thankfully Team Adawyn is fixing a lot of the errors.
Their version of A New Hope is the only one I can watch...

I have yet to buy the Blu-Ray's and unless they go and do a MASSIVE overhaul on them like CBS is doing with Star Trek: The Next Generation, then I probably never will.

I've bought every new version release stopping with the Final DVD release a few years ago...

can't call me a die-hard Trek fan because I am not that old yet! I did buy the 2009 bluray hoping it would grow on me but it has grown mold sitting on my shelf and Into Darkness isn't entering my life at all. meh, to each their own but I just think people need to be careful and not get thier hopes up to high. I think he will do better with Star Wars than with Star Trek but do we have lower standards now because of Episodes 1-3? will we be saying "they are better than the prequels" instead of "those were great movies"? or will we be saying "boy, i wish he had taken more chances with it"?

As much as I love what Adywan has done to fix certain technical flaws, I think he should leave the movies alone for the most part. I can't watch the Vader/Obi-Wan duel in ANH with Duel of the Fates playing. I laugh/cringe every time.

Check out the "despecialized" versions. THESE are the only versions I watch now.

I’m not sure if I have the HD versions but if I had to guess I’d say I do. IMO, the color timing and overall picture quality looks miles better than the BDs and the best part is they are not tampered with by Luca$!
