Unfortunately, gas cost will continue to play an ever increasing factor in what can be bought (and made sense) locally. For me the nearest Wal-mart is about 2 gallons of gas (round trip) in either direction. As a retiree, I can't justify going that way just to pick up a movie.

So Face/Off (which Amazon is telling me they probably will have to cancel my order of) will cost me at least $10 more (gas plus tax) buying it locally then any price I could get online. That hurts.

I'm going to wait and see if Amazon will still come through -- I really don't care how long it takes (heck, it's not as if F/O hasn't been out for years in some format so I don't really need to see it "now"). If I happen to find myself at Wal-mart or CostCo (even further for me) for some other reason I'll certainly see if it's there for a reasonable price, though.

When gas does reach $8 per gallon (and it will before the decade is out) it will be very interesting to see the choices we'll all have to make.
