Default any word on star trek?

All i can find around the net is almost-year old news headings about it hitting blu-ray and hd dvd later in the year (which was 2006), and a few very early product pages. Last I heard it was going to come to hd-dvd first, and blu-ray later. Perhaps they are rethinking that decision?

What's the latest? Anyone know?

They've been updating some releases up through august and a few in November currently that is not a title that has been announced but I'm sure it is something everyone will see in the future. Remember they had a large list of movies that were slated to come out this summer that were all cancelled for a later time. I think everything is waiting for BD+

I'm agree with TheOmegaSoldier & Coltboy. They might be waiting for BD+, but I think their mainly waiting for BDJ.

What Star Trek we talking about here? Movies or series, and which series? Personally I would buy T.N.G. if it came out on blu-ray.

Heck any of them! Series, movies, whatever. I'll buy whatever extremely overpriced set they throw at me. (remember the crazy retail prices on the season boxed dvds?)

Voyager was my favorite, but i bet that would be one of the last to get released.

Interesting thing about Voyager.......friend of mine said he liked the ship but the series was a little weak, he said keep the ship, kill off the crew and let 7 of 9 do everything the two best parts of the series. lol

I certainly hope they don't wait for the next movie.

(yes colt, but there isn't much information on it.)

It's not scheduled to release until december 25, 2008 so that's a LONG way to wait for some blu-rays

Star Trek XI, it is reportedly will be a prequel revolving around a young James T. Kirk and Mr. Spock. Release date is for Christmas of 2008. J.J. Adams is the director and a producer on the project. Writers are Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. Adams, Kurtzman and Orci all collaborated on Mission Impossible III.

I've been catching the original series redone with updated special effects. Love to see it on Blu-ray. I thought that Universal owned the rights but I may be wrong

If univeral owns it then they will go HDDVD, because they have some sickness where they can't see BD is the better format. i believe Paramont still owns the rights to it.

Universal does not own it.

Paramount own Star Trek Franchises rights.

Star Trek Ultimate Movie Collection set and Oringal Series are in work and part of rumor, there is no release date set yet. It is expect to release on HD DVD first this Christmas. I do not know when Star Trek Ultimate Movie Collection set will be release. All we know that Oringal Series are set to release this Christmas and will be on Blu-ray next year or things can change over next several months.

Things can change from what they announced, it can be delay or push to later date or change mind and release it on both format at same time.

Star Trek Franchises are own by Paramounts Picture Company.

Their HD-DVD first announcement was made when hd dvd had more of a hold over blu-ray. Hopefully if our upward market share trend continues, paramount and other companies will shift to blu-ray first, hd-dvd after.

It is about when James T. Kirk was in Starfleet Academy. It is true, the movie is in pre-production as of now. Why do I need link? I have faith and I believe it is true. These are my own word.

Now as you wanted to see proof as your own eye. Here is Evidence of Star Trek XI.

According to IMDB:
Quote:
Since this project is categorized as being in production, the data is subject to change; some data could be removed completely.
Like what I said without searching for links, from my own mind, so here is quote from IMDB on the plot line:
Quote:
Revolves around a young James T. Kirk and Mr. Spock, chronicling their first meeting at Starfleet Academy and their first space mission.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0796366/maindetails

It is not hard to google it with Star Trek XI.
