Most definitely. Fox wants a universe. And Days of Future Past allows them to totally rewrite the Xmen timeline as well, integrating FF elements as the please

It's hilarious how butt-hurt some people are over the trailer and then go on to claim they won't watch it, when we all know you will, eventually.

Eventually is the key. I didn't watch the first Fantastic Four til it showed up on HBO. I still have yet to even sit through the entire second film. Fox needs us buying tickets and seeing this in the theater in order for the reboot to succeed. This teaser didn't make me anymore likely to do so.

To be honest, I was meh on the trailer.

I mean, it doesn't look as horrendous as I imagined, but when your biggest headline is "from the studio that brought you DOFP"...I don't think that bodes well for the movie.

As a reader of the Ultimate FF line (among the rest of the UU), I'm still not quite seeing the similarities (as supposedly the film is taking much of the inspiration from the UFF series). I mean I see a few, but overall the tone is completely different.

As of now, the films still is too much Chronicle 2 for my tastes. Not to mention it still reeks of "We needed to keep the rights, let's just make a movie, regardless of quality!"

The worse part though, is that they will continue to post in this thread about how much they hate it adding nothing to the conversation.

I wonder how they plan to explain this other dimension that they go to, or if it will just be a brief sequence.

So, according to all the youtube dislikes and comments section, many Marvel fans hate this because it has a black actor playing a white character and its 'too dark'.

Good thing Im a DC fan.

The trailer itself doesnt work as a 'teaser', its too long. Should have been 60 secs max. So it feels a bit dry

I think it will be a good film because Josh Trank is directing

Well, it did not suck. But to me, it seems very... Uninteresting. I mean, what sets this apart from any other action movie of the summer?

YMMV. But it does fall under the pro wrestling category for me: for those who believe, no explanation is necessary. For those who do not believe, no explanation will do.

Well, to be fair, both things are true. The former has been discussed more than enough on here as it is, but I think the latter is true once again. Fantastic Four isn't supposed to be dark.

With that said, it actually looks decent, and I was a big enough fan of the original (even if a good amount of people think it's crap).

When you say original do you mean 2005? Because technically that's not the original one.

If you're talking about me, then you obviously haven't been reading my posts fully. I said I will see it, BUT I will not be paying to see it in the theatre.

I've added more to the conversation than you or a lot of people have. But I guess you only seem to think that only positive views are "adding to the conversation" and that any negative criticism is unfounded. Sorry, I'm not a sheep that accepts just about anything we're being fed.

I actually prefer the good-natured spirit of fun in Fantastic Four (2005) and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007) to the numbing somberness of the Dark Knight movies.

At first glance, this reboot looks unintentionally comical in its seriousness, but I've always loved Fantastic Four, and I'm definitely going to give it a go.
