I can see that .. BB was more attack minded for fights ... souls games are defense first ....

With PC, it's such a challenge because everyone might have varying hardware installed with different results, unlike with the consistency of a console.

I'm surprised to hear you like Bloodborne better than Elden Ring so far anyway. If you prefer the more linear paths compared to open world stuff, that could be the reason.
That isn't the reason I like Bloodborne more. I love Bloodborne for the combat, lore, and artistic design. Linear or open world makes no difference.

Not a huge deal, as I got the game, but it was interesting to note.
You're not alone. Same situation with me.

Ah, okay. So it's a bit more slower paced than Blopdborne.

I was hoping it might be a bit closer but maybe by the look of things it'll be a bit in between. I do like the look of this and the game world looks intriguing but i just have so much on my list i'm kind of glad it's a single player game that i can pick up down the line.

I preordered over a month ago at Best Buy. I received the game today but my steelbook isn’t due to arrive until march 4th.

Watching the game play, I saw a couple online players team up against a bunch of enemies and they wiped out the general enemies and mini bosses pretty easily.

The open landscape looks interesting and varied, and the enemies are varied and almost right out of a horror game like Evil Within, which is really cool.

Thanks. The PS4 version, I'll have to check if it has a free upgrade to PS5.
The PS4 version on PS5 probably automatically unlocks the 60 fps and higher resolution, as the PS4 Pro version without an update for the disc version I bet.

Probably the lower resolution of the PS4 Pro version is what allows the game on PS5 to reach 60 fps consistently. Interesting. I bet they look nearly identical other than resolution.

That's cool, enjoy. Are you going to keep the steelbook sealed as a collectible then?

Cool. It sounds like they're sending the game first, and then the game's steelbook separately, even though it's the same single order. At first I thought you ordered 2 games, 1 regular and 1 steelbook version.

I'm 15 hours in now and the game just continues to blow my mind. So much cool stuff to find while exploring, and then some of the areas are more like proper Souls levels. So it's expansive but also very meticulously designed. I've beaten lots of mini-bosses, a few big ones, and one major one. Still feels like I've barely scratched the surface.

Well, it is supposed to be around a 100 hour game, is it not?

Just messing with you. While I have no interest in the game as highly frustrating games aren't my thing, it's good to see people loving it with it being so hyped.

That sounds good, thanks. How much of the map would you say you've explored?

I wonder how long the day time lasts, before night fall. And if any odd creatures emerge only at night to threaten the player.

I've watched some live game play, and the players were making mincemeat of the standard enemies in the game and mini bosses too. Not even getting hit and not needing to replenish health. So it seems a good portion of the game will be easier until facing the big bosses.

In Bloodborne, some of the enemies are easy there too at first.

True, it is more accessible than their previous games, but it's still likely to be pretty frustrating at times. I love big open world RPGs, but I think it'd be safer for me to replay Skyrim again with the PS5 version than risk my controller going out the window...

Skyrim could be tough at times too I remember with some of the bosses. But overall, yes, more manageable as there was a difficulty meter.

This game, no option to change the challenge.

I can't really say how much of the map I've explored. I literally watched and read nothing about this game before it released because I did not want to spoil it for myself. I can just say it's bigger than I expected and I would be surprised if I've explored even 25% of the map. For example...

[Show spoiler]...in my last playthrough I defeated the first major boss, Godrick. After defeating him I continued forward thinking that maybe I'd find an item or NPC. I kept thinking I need to get back to the map and explore all those areas I saw but didn't check out. Well, instead of finding an item or NPC I walked out of a structure and into a massive new area that looks completely insane. So now I have this massive new area and there are still tons of places I've already seen but haven't come close to fully exploring. Even Godrick's castle (which is basically a massive level unto itself) still has places I never accessed. So much to do!

When this game first came out it was ps4, i think first then pc and all the others came after.. so it prob most optimized for it. I had that opy pre ordered for like two year and a half till i went digital.

About 13.5 hours in so far, and I'm only finally starting stormveil castle. It's really clicked with me, and I'm loving it.

That sounds promising, thanks.
On a scale of 1 to 10 being the toughest, how tough was the major boss you fought? In general terms for all games, not just From Software games?

Is there just a default mode for quality and no performance mode in the game? In other words, 4K but with 45 to 55 frames per second?

I see, thanks. Yes, for your order to be in for such a long time, they should have shipped much sooner since you're a very loyal customer who supported them early on. I bet with the manufacturer, the gears turn much slower unfortunately with shipping as they're not set up like a retailer who likes to ship things out much faster with a big shipping team.

I'm playing at 4K/Ultra and outside of some stutters it's mostly a solid 60fps. I don't really like putting a number on how challenging the bosses are. It's so subjective. But there are some really tough fights so far, and that goes for bosses as well as enemies you simply encounter out in the world.

My copy was supposed to arrive on Friday, but it was delayed. I won’t start playing that game because I am right in the middle of Sekiro.
