Silence can be extremely powerful if used effectively (I always thought Terrence Malick was a master of incorporating silence into his movies, but like it notes in the review, Malick is not Cameron and Avatar is not the same type of film as The New World).

Either way, I'm sure Avatar will be to Blu-ray what The Matrix was for DVD.

Do they have a preview up on youtube yet??? Or maybe instead of asking, I should just go search for myself .

I think the UPS people are a little careless at times.
Sorry about your problem My slipcover from Amazon is in perfect condition.

What does it truly matter? It's not like you are paying them a salary to do movie reviews.

When that first shot of the long spaceship appears the brightness does shift, yes. I watched that scene again after the film was over and it absolutely did change. Very slight, but I'm so used to seeing brightness flicker in movies far more severe (like "Heat" - that's a prime example right there) that one slight shift and not all-out flickering isn't anything to be concerned about in comparison.

Does this blu-ray have some kind of light grain added to the CG imagery or is that a screenshot glitch?

He really seemed to slam james cameron.I personally loved the story. If you dig deep enough, all movies are influenced by,or somewhat similar to lots of other movies.I guess all that matters is that I really like it.Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I may not agree with the score (4.5/5...well actually a 4.25...for me) but it was well written and he supported his opinion quite well

Well said

Some reviews you may agree with, others maybe not. I think it would be pretty boring if reviews only spat back at you what you already thought...what would be the point of reading them? Difference of opinion can be refreshing sometimes .

Where as personally consider it a 5/5 and the greatest movie of all time.

Watching it for the 3rd time today now. Well, with the Rifftrax.

This is why I never pay attention to the "movie" score. All I check the reviews for are the PQ/AQ.

I'd personally give it a 5/5 scaled up from a 4.75 out of 5.
