Most sites only have a fraction of the mod team that AVS has though, have a look through their mod list.

We are brutal with respect to blind faith in Microsoft, lies, misinformation and FUD, as well as the people who post these them.

Very true, infact I myself have questioned tactics used by Sony and other Blu-ray companies, I was irritated that they moved the PiP date to October from July. I have said that in these forums and mainly people have agreed with me.

The problem with AVS is that people along with the mods over there are far to sensitive about this stuff and get upset if you correct the FUD. Here the mod team get irritated (and ban/suspend) at the people who post and perpetuate FUD rather than the tireless posters who rip it to pieces.

I understand the traffic issue that however isn't the same as uneven moderations. Traffic would be more a problem of not moderating effectively, they are effective if you are on the "wrong" side of things.

If they actually followed through according to their rules the place could be a much better. You suspend a guy a few days or a week for violating TOS next time he will not continue to violate or if he does a longer penalty. Instead they don't do anything.

Yeah I posted in it. He alluded to having posts removed which had math proving his points. He blasted the moderators for being so gung-ho and didn't see any reason to continue there.

I find myself spending less and less time there. There really isn't anything to read. If it went off the net it wouldn't bother me.

When I go it will be with a ban. I already have one warning. They had a poll on the main page "How long will it take for HD-DVD to win?" One of the choices was "Never" which I chose. I went to the thread and said something like, "For god's sake, stick a fork in it."

The polls thread happened to be in the HD-DVD forum. A mod PM'd me, "Nice troll. Your comment has been removed and you are warned." I pm'd him back and asked why the poll was on the main page if I could not respond to it. No reply....*shrug*

I have not posted on AVS for over a year now. I got so disgusted at what was allowed to go on there in the blu-ray forums. Non stop trolling and attacking by HD-DUD users.

I think if AVS just moved the HDDVD forums to a different area than the BD forums...so that you couldn't view them together on the same page, it would end half of the troll posts. But being able to click BD/HDDVD areas and see all of them that easy makes it twice as easy to spot a red flag and go after it for both parties.
