Looks ugly as hell in my opinion. Not to mention the huge amount of space wasted. Like the article states, there is little chance they could fit all the internal components necessary into that small hub, all the while there is a huge amount of wasted real estate because of the clear frame around it. Sony isn't stupid. They'll go for something much more practical.

As long as it's backwards compatible with my PS1, PS2, and PS3 games, I'm cool with it. Also, it should still play Blu-rays, DVDs, and CDs.

Oh, and give me back my SACD support too!

Terrible design, I doubt the PS4 will look anything like that.

They should make it out of aerogel. That way I can keep my PS4 intact should my home catch on fire.

Also, that design is ugly.

seriously I don't want my next game console to look like some art work, it's a computer system, and Sony shouldn't be ashamed to sell it for what it is. I got the PS3 60GB, it's was big clunky and powerful, and I liked it that way.

Doesn't appeal me. I'd be really sorry if that was real. I think Sony could do better.

I'm quite digging the design, myself.

That said, I do not agree with the article's issue about the PS4 concept still being disc based. I fully expect the PS4 to still support disc based media, if only to support Bluray since I'm fairly certain Sony expects blu to still be around (and maybe even the standard) by then. Of course downloadable games will be much more common by then but Sony won't ditch their beloved disc format if it is still relevant, which I don't see how it couldn't.

It's not just a clear frame though. If you check the link that the article sources, there are several other pictures where that frame acts as a visual presentation aspect for the content... much like the computer screens that Tom Cruise's character uses in his investigations in Minority Report. It isn't "wasted real estate" at all. It's very new age technology.

OH! They updated the article to include a picture of what I was just talking about. The frame actually serves a purpose other than just being a stagnant piece of "wasted real estate" glass.

I think that looks like something I would definitely buy, very swish, especially with the images being displayed on the clear parts of the PS4 and the controller. The 720 on the other hand looks rubbish.
