Unless the Sony HTIB offers HDMI audio passthrough, which I can't tell if it does, I would pass on all three options. Definitely pass on the Onkyo, because it doesn't have HDMI connections at all. You'll probably achieve the best sound quality from the Yamaha, but the one you listed doesn't have HDMI audio passthrough or analog inputs, so no lossless audio. I've never been impressed with Sony receivers and amps, especially on the lower end of the spectrum.
If it were me, I'd save a few more bucks to by a lower priced separate system. Seriously consider the Yamaha RX-V663 or Onkyo 606 as your brain, and buy a surround speaker package separately. You'll end up a lot happier in the long run. HTIB's compromise too much on sound quality and features to make the savings worth it. |
