I did find a work-around, but it's not 100% effective. i can join a random freeburn and friends can use their own Easy Drive menu to join me without me having to send or accept an invite. Of course this only works if the freeburn I'm in isn't already full. Also, if a friend is already hosting a freeburn, there's no way for me to join, and I wouldn't expect them to break up the game they're hosting to join me and the random people. So...I either: A)deal with the crappy work-around, B)delete, start over and buy the time savers pack out of pocket ![]() I'm not really happy with any of these options. If this never happened, I would have bought DLC and kept playing for Paradise Awards and an Elite license, even after I got the all the trophies. Now I'm undecided. Jeff, I'll consider your $15, but I'll pass on your $5 used Eye Toy ![]() |

now i'm a little upset... my GF (who is a HUGE simpsons fan) recently purchased the simpsons game for about 10 dollars at BBUY (on the other system). mind you this is an EA title. after getting to the last level of the game (she rarely is interested in ANY game to actually go through the whole thing) the game save corrupted on her. it will not let her load the game. i looked online for a fix and i've came up with NOTHING. i contacted EA about this but i have to wait till tomorrow for a response. this is absurd. we shouldnt have problems with our game saves! Zelda got it down perfectly in the NES era, and here, in the current gen we're having issues. its stupid.

Anyhoo, if it really DOES happen 7% of the time, then I would say that is a HUGE problem. I dunno whether 93 is the actual percentage or your guess, but let's say there's a game that uses auto-save with a 7% corruption rate. Now, let's say that game sold 2 million copies. That means 140,000 players would have their data corrupted at some point. You don't think that's a problem the company should address? Seriously? And that's only one game! IF it's true that this happens to EVERY game that auto-saves, then we're talking millions (possibly even billions) of screwed up games. Back-up your Saved Data Utility files everyone! |

I seriously need to do this. I've got a portable hard drive, but everytime I turn on the ps3 I'm watching a movie or playing a game LOL
Only time I've had a corrupted data happen to me was once on the ps2. One of my friends was playing a game and they were going to overwrite my save data with a new one and I told them no, so they pulled the memory card out. LOL Had to start over anyway after that. |

UPDATE: While I still haven't received any more e-mails from EA or Criterion, the problem has been fixed...sorta.
I read on another forum that this can happen when the PSN friends list is full, and bringing it down to 95 stops the freezing. Not a great solution, but I did delete a few people and it worked. No more freezing. Unfortunately, my PSN friends list now has a strict "1 in, 1 out" policy. So people I don't remember, haven't talked to or played with in a long time or were added via PS Home with no actual games in common might get purged on occasion. |
