Fanboyz was mostly correct with what he was saying, except I don't know why he thought the flashback scenes from Hellraiser looked better than Hellbound. They do not. The flashback scenes were disappointing. Wasn't too much bothered by them, personally, though, since Hellbound was alright.
People's faces don't look detailed -- although sometimes you can see wrinkles and things, but it's still not that good. People's eyes, however, when you see them closer, look very nice and colorful and you can see them well. Sometimes it annoyed me how dark and inky Kirsty's hair looked, particuarly when she's resting in her bed in the dark. Sometimes you can see her strands of hair, though, and hair looked better on everyone else, but not Kirsty. |

Bottom Line: Is it a Blu-ray that you know is an old movie but is a blu-ray when you are watching?.
I don't want another Flesheater, Hellraiser: Inferno, Hills have Eyes bullshit experience. |

Good point. Maybe it was one of those characters like the guys from the Hellraiser movies that want to sell you the puzzlebox -- that always try to get you to take it because "it's yours." Maybe I had one of those guys drop off the Blu-ray for me because the Blu-ray knew it belonged to me and I needed it.

This doesn't look like shit. I certainly have seen older films that I thought looked worse. It looks like a Blu-ray to me. I mean, it has scenes that wow you, but sometimes it does ... not really wow you. But it basically does have that... "smoothness" I call it that you would find in Blu-rays. Where everything looks even. Where things look all lined out and everything. I'm not good at describing Blu-rays well, but my feelings are that while it's not amazing in the sense that it's full of details and brightness, it's got clarity and sometimes shine and it's as richly colored as the best DVD you could get, if not more. By saying that, though, I'm not saying it's like a DVD. It doesn't feel like a DVD. Maybe some of you really do think it's like an upconverted DVD, but not me. I'm totally serious about vastly preferring the Blu-ray over the DVDs. I'm actually psyched about watching this again -- the film is way more fun and exciting and faster paced than Hellraiser. It just has a very patchwork kind of story with lots of oddities and it's rushed at only 90 minutes. Last edited by RockyBalboa; 09-07-2011 at 03:30 PM. |

It really seems like a lighting problem or something. This movie has always seemed strangely colored. Maybe that was intentional -- or they couldn't help it. Maybe it was a very cheap budget -- looks like they spent a lot on set design and cenobite design than anything else. It definitely looks better when the scenes are more lit up. |

He really did. You could see him pretty well detailed, in fact. Could see color variations in his head, wrinkles, etc. His suit was shiny and black and nice. His finger extensions looked good. The scene where he killed the cenobites was awesome. His death scene wasn't bad either.

I'll say this, though -- I've seen Hellraiser: Bloodline on Blu-ray, but I couldn't quite remember how detailed it was. I know it was released by Echo Bridge, which is hated by so many people.
The screen captures of Bloodline on this site... look better than Hellbound. I have not seen Inferno on Blu-ray, yet... or any other sequel... only 1, 2 and 4. So, Hellbound is shaping up to be the worst Hellraiser film in high definition... but I'll tell you this. I actually like Hellraiser: Bloodline, but I still found watching Hellbound on Blu-ray a much more enjoyable experience than watching Bloodline on Blu-ray. |

Well... Inferno, judging by screencaps, looks almost better in some ways, but I can see how crappy it might be to watch it. However, I really think some scenes in Hellbound looked pretty good, and overall, I think it's better. I think Inferno sucks as a movie and is boring to watch. I didn't even bother with getting the double feature of that and Bloodline -- I got Bloodline all by itself.
