Default Problems īgetting my wifi-dongle to connect with my computer

Problems īgetting my wifi-dongle to connect with my computer

Hey everyone... i have just looked through this thread. Thank you for all the posts - have been very helpful

tho i have an extra problem i really cant figure out! I got a BD-P4600 with wifi dongle. I am connected to my wireless network and got the last fireware update. When i search for network - i find my computer. BUT when i try to connect to it i have to put username and password.... I have tried everything! i used my username for my computer, i have tried to make a new user on my computer and used that one afterwards and bla bla.. nothing works.. ALWAYS it keep saying "incorrect username or password"!

Another quite mystirious problem is that i cant find my other computer? i can only find this notebook. The other computer is running XP, but i have opened everything and just did exactly the same as i did with this computer...?

Well....i hope any of you guys have figured out the same problem or know how to solve it.. i have tried for 2 weeks now and i cant get connected to my computer so i can stream from it...

Best Regards

I would think that you would want to connect the wi-fi dongle to a wireless network not an individual computer. Maybe I'm just not familiar with the 4600 dongle enough to comment more or I'm not sure what you are trying to accomplish.

Sounds like the problem is the security settings on your computer are not letting the 4600 have access. You have connected to the Internet via the router for a firmware update,... so I would suspect the computer first.

It sounds like you don't understand Networks, read up on how you set up a Home Network. You have to give your Network a name, your computers distinctive names, and then share what you want to access. If you are going to try and Stream Music and Video, a Wired Network is the only way to go.

Well im using Vista 64-bit...

It is connected to the internet and i have updated my fireware.... so no problem there.

I undestand everything about network and i have opened my computer fully.. i have even tried to remove every single tiny little block or password their might make a slight trouble, tho it still didnt fix it :S

Any of you guys know which username and password you have to enter? i have tried with my login at the computer, all my network logins etc. still it tells me that i am using wrong login or password.....!

Best Regards

No you don't understand Networks, you just can't open things up and expect everything to connect. What kind of a Router are you using? The instructions for the Router will tell you the User Name and Password. What is your Network Name and the SSID for the Router. What are you trying to access and why?

In P4600 u can run a network test and its fine.... tho i cant connect to an individual computer to make the streaming thing.. watching videos etc from my computer. i am "connected", tho i cant get into the last step because it block my access because of "wrong login and pass"... even tho i use every single password i can emagine.....

Create a new user name and password for your Blu-Ray player on the computer network. Reboot the computer. Put that information into your Blu-Ray player and log in to the "network" using the "new" user name and password.

The "network" will not let you log the BD Player in as the same user name that anything else is using,... the BD player must have it's own user name and password.
