Here is my dilemma:
I have been purchasing used discs on E-bay, and with the exception of 2 out of 70 discs, everything has been great. I've saved about $7 to $15 per title, by purchasing used. I can't test the discs, because my PS3 is far away in Korea. I am on vacation with my parents in the USA now. One disc is a movie, and it is lightly scratched. I have a feeling it's going to be fine. I left negative feedback, and the guy on E-bay went ballistic and all but threatened me, warning me about "karma." The other Blu-ray is a game, and it is very scratched -- especially near the edges. The ad said, "Good Condition", but it is anything but that. The seller is a pawn shop (should have known better than to buy a disc from such a lo-life crap place). After two days, they have not answered my e-mails for a refund, despite the auction stating that they will refund within 7 days if I'm not satisfied. It was bought via paypal, and I'm going to look into what should be done next. Is there any way I can buff out these scratches? Do you think it will even play?: ![]() |

If it doesn't work, don't wait for the seller to respond any longer - he's had plenty of time already - and file a "Non-Performing Seller" complaint. Mark that the item was fundamentally different from the description (ie crappy conditon as opposed to good.) This will get eBay involved and motivate the seller to act. Also, if you used Paypal, go file a claim with them as well. You should be able to get most of your money back, should he decide no to take care of you. Often, just starting these processes will force a seller to get his butt in gear and take care of you.
Don't leave feedback until this is resolved. Even then, I would be wary of leaving him feedback until he leaves it for you, otherwise you could get a retaliatory Neg even if you give him a Positive. |

Click here to watch a guy do a scratch test on a disc. Very impressive... I bet your disc above still works.
That Ebay seller should be shot if he thinks that disc doesn't warrant a negative feedback. Of course unless he said the disc was badly scratched but still works. Can't wait for 300!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

My 2 year old got a hold of our copy of Terabithia. It still played after the hell that disc had to endure.

The sammy 1200 wouldn't play a disc that looks like that. I know cuz I have purchased used dvds that aren't as bad as that and they still freeze up. If I received a disc looking like that when the seller stated it's in good condition, I'd be pissed!!!

It's usually kids and non-caring adults.
You'd be amazed whar kids will do with a disc. They leave them out of the protective cases, drop them on the floor, step on them, etc. They don't care. They didn't pay for them....maybe daddy or mommy will buy another if it doesn't work. Me, I'm the oppossite. They only see the light of day when they go in the machine. I never touch the surface of the disc. Never had a scratch or problem. I'm even anal enough to clean the Netflix discs before putting them in my machine! |

If I were you, I would insist on getting the refund before you send the disc back. Be sure to send him a copy of the picture showing all of the scratches. If he refuses or doesn't reply within 24 hours, I would file a "Non-Performing Buyer" complaint. There's absolutely no excuse for him selling you a disc in that condition without full disclosure.

Demand your money back first, then ship the disc back to him. If you used paypal, file a complaint with them as well. Most times, the seller will offer to replace the damaged disc if you send it back first. Dont go that route. Tell him if he is going to replace it, to send the replacement, then you send the original back after you get it.
