PS3 Audio hook up with a Pioneer VSX-D509S - Blu-ray Forum

Hi All,
I just purchased a PS3 and I am having trouble with connecting the audio to my Pioneer receiver via the optical. Does anyone have any experience or advice?
Looking forward to the Transformer movie being my first Blu-Ray and would be disappointed if I have to go analog or TV.

I hooked up the PS3 through optical and assigned the optical to DVD.

It should work for you through optical. I used optical before I bought the new receiver 2 months ago. Just remember to go into your PS3 menu and make sure that you set the optical out setting to Bitstream.

Keithsguy New Member Member since:Oct 2009	Got it - redirected the optical to DVD I hooked up the PS3 through optical and assigned the optical to DVD.
