![]() Quote:
![]() Quality is a subjective thing. Tastes differ. Spec-wise, there are 32" TVs which will offer superior contrast ratios, black levels, overall color-accuracy, and likely, reduced motion blurring than your Polaroid - especially since LCD technology has come along a bit since 2006. If you are planning on staying with a 32" TV, Sony and Samsung offer top-tier quality. Sharp, Toshiba and LG are also very good, often for a little less than Sony or Samsung. Most 32" LCDs are still 720p models, but a few 1080p models have emerged at 32". You'll have to decide for yourself if 1080 in a 32" is worth the extra expense. I would say that if you are sitting more than 4 or 5 feet away, it would not, but again, personal tastes and operating scenarios differ. Best thing to do is just to look at the different TVs available and see for yourself. The only unfortunate thing is that many TVs are not set optimally in the brightly lit superstore environment, but if you can talk to knowledgeable (very important - knowledgeable) sales reps, then I'm sure you will find something which will really feel like the best purchase for you. Of course, if you are looking at going with a larger screen, then a whole lot more options become available for you, even at the 40" range. ![]() |

Your initial purchase was a little cheap and thus the quality of it deteriorated over the years.
