Default Looking for an inexpensive 32inch LCD TV sony or samsung

can you guys please help me out in choosing among these two models

samsung LA32A550P1 5 series 32 inch full HD

sony KLV-32V400A/B V series HD ready

both are almost the same price here in India (sony slightly higher). Also, is there a prominent difference in clarity between HD ready and Full HD at 32 inch.

thanks in advance...

Mukhtadir if you have the dough/rupees I would suggest you stay away from "HD ready" sets and get the full HD [And by that I am assuming its 1080p]. I dunno if India has HD channels already but if they are in the pipeline [bound to be in the future right?] why settle for less? You don't wanna turn around and two years from now regret it!

1080p is pointless on a 32" tv, you can't tell the difference between 720p and 1080p on a tv that size. Save the cash and get a good 720p set.

hey thanks guys for your responses..

actually the samsung is cheaper and its Full HD (1080p), the Sony is HD ready.. but as mentioned i have heard that that at 32 inch you cant tell the diff between HD ready and Full HD..

I have also heard that sony is the best in terms of quality and if HD ready and Full HD are not going to make a difference at 32 inch then I dont mind going for the sony. If buying a full HD does make some difference at 32 inch then i will go for samsung.. Also brand wise there are lots of threads on various forums sony vs samsung and i am just confused..

Moreover, India does not have HD channels yet

A 1080P TV At 32" Means you will have to be a few feet away to notice the difference in resolution! At that distance a 720p tv will be good enough and cheaper. To be honest a 37" 720p set will be ok also at that distance but yeah for 32" 720p will do fine!

Well I was thinking going ahead if you were considering a blu-ray player then a 1080p set would be nice but yeah by all means if you find a 720p that is cheaper then by all means go for it!

That would depend on you...some like Sammys others Sonys. If you can physically be in front of them [to tweak etc] then that would make things easier as far as picking one of the two.
