We've had enough Best-Of threads going early (even the ones that just repeat RottenTomatoes percentages, which cause the unexplained anomaly of "Cloudy/Meatballs" showing up on the lists
![]() (Note the emphasis, for Worst titles that conventional wisdom can unite behind, as opposed to knee-jerk slacker pimply-hyperboles of "Vampire's Assistant, worst movie in the history of recorded civilization since Hittite cuniform tablets, d00d!") To start off with, and having just recently rented it this past week, I just have to say: There are some movies so bad, they not only depress critics but visibly traumatize them. (Siskel & Ebert, for example, both claimed they were once ready to retire from criticism for good after the quasi-incestuous 80's hijinx of Tony Danza's "She's Out of Control")... Even this, however, PALES in comparison to the sheer number of fatalist, handwringing "Decline of modern civilization" media columns that were written immediately after "Transformers 2: ROTF" had a big opening weekend. No, I'm not saying it out of summer-CGI hating--I liked the first movie, and what passes for Michael Bay "comedy-relief" in the second one will make even the most casual first-movie fans put paper bags over their heads like Sylvester Jr. in the Warner Bros. cartoons....Oh, the shame of it. ![]() (Again, I'm only trying to prime the pump for early suggestions, as it's only just now November... And Disney's "Old Dogs" hasn't yet opened for Thanksgiving rush, featuring not only the "Daddy Day Camp" remake, but Seth Green's one-man tribute to Chris Kataan. ![]() Last edited by EricJ; 11-01-2009 at 03:54 PM. |

That was one long winded question.
![]() Did Push come out in '09? If so, that's the worst one i saw, but then again, i didn't have high expectations. I'm sure there are ones that are worse, but i don't generally go see movies i think will be bad. ![]() District 9 is probably the worst of the critically praised movies i saw this year. |

Star Trek 2009. The only thing this turkey had in common with Star Trek was the name. I could list 100 problems with this film but why bother....the utlimate insult was the whole new timeline that didnt need to even happen in the first place.

'09 isn't over yet, so I can't really decide what is the worst movie by far. I guess I will come back to this thread by the end of the year and give my opinion.
By far, I would have to say Push falls in that category. But the worst may be just around the corner. ![]() |

Transformers 2. Glad I waited for it to come out on video.
Although I did hate Transformers 1, too. I'm not even sure why I watched it. |
