Default Could No Speaker = Damage To Receiver ?

Hey Guys,

I was wondering if I can damaged my Elite SC-07 if I use it with no speakers attached to it ?

I need to move the MA speakers into another room for a few days but my PS3is connected into the SC-07 and from there into the Panny. I can use the amps passthrough option to get sound from the TV but I'm worried about running it with no speakers...

I know with tubes amps this isnt suggested but what about solid state ?

As far as I know this shouldn't be an issue. The thought would have honestly never even crossed my mind actually, but I'm not 100% sure.

Yes, your receiver will self destruct in a few minutes.

I am just kidding. If you are so concerned, make sure you turn the volume all the way down to the lowest level.

I don't know the receiver you are referring to. If it uses tubes then there is a good chance of damage if operated with no speakers. If it is solid state then there should be no issues. Enjoy.

Hey Kitty,

the receiver is a Pioneer Elite SC-07. Its all SS so I figured it wasn't a problem but I wanted to make sure... better safe than sorry. But all of you pretty much confirmed it.

thanks.
