Hey guys,
I am looking to get a new LCD TV, and need help picking one. I would say my maximum price point would be maybe 1400. I think the smallest screen size I would want would be about 46". The bigger the better. 120 hertz, 24p, and good black levels a major plus. Mainly for Blus and Xbox -Joe |

Read this article in this thread. It says that if using 120/240 hz tv with motion interpolation that there is a loss of PQ as a result, and that there isn't a big differnce between 120/240 hz and 60hz tvs.
https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=122172 Therefore, I would concentrate more on brand quality and size over the refresh rates. If you want a straight 24p playback without using 3:2 pulldown then look at the Sonys, however, most of the better brands can process the 3:2 pulldown without any issues. I use a 60 hz TV and the pulldown is fine, I have bdp playing at 24 fps. |

Yeah I did, but I'm having second thoughts about plasmas. I noticed that there has been some image retention/BI. I did not think that break in was necessary anymore, and now am trying to wipe away some retained images. I have only had the tv about a month and do not play games alot, but some hud seems stuck there.....
I don't know what to do.... |

Hey Joe, Try the Sony KDL46V5100. I have this tv and the blacks are superb, it has 120hz and 24p. Everything your looking for and its right in your price range. In fact you may be able to find them even cheaper due to the fact they are gonna be discontinued "they say" in 2010. Its an excellent HDTV. ![]() |
