Default Ohm Experts, Need some help with Shaker wiring please!!!

Not really sure where this fits in but since this is common to sub wiring as well I figure this is as good of place as any.

I'm picking up a 180W RMS (4 ohm) plate amp and 4 Aura Pro BassShakers in the next week and need a little help figuring out my wiring. (I'm pumped )

Drew this up real quick to make sure but I'm pretty sure this is right. 2 sets in series wired parallel will give me a 4 ohm load correct?

So if that's right would this be correct as well? This is my couch set up, basically the two running horizontal are the bottom 2 of the scheme above and the others are the top 2. What I'm trying to stay away from is running wires back and forth across the couches so instead of running the parallel cable from one + terminal to the next I've got two coming out of the amp +. Is this correct, should I have any issues with this set up?

Well, since no one else is jumping in...

Yes, they are effectively the same. Both are series parallel, and will result in a 4 ohm load.

No problem

There is a way that may be better for you.
Run from the positive of the amp to both positives of of the shakers of the first couch. Then from both negatives of the first couch into one wire, to both positives of the second couch. Then out both negatives into the amp negative.
It's a little cleaner then your option I think.

I'll try to dig up a quick graphic for you.

Edit: Ok so here the top two would represent one couch and the bottom two the other couch. Kind of a generic representation but I think it explains the concept. It's the way I wired the woofers in my mains.

Don't worry about it, I got it. That would definitely be cleaner and also use quite a bit less cable

Thanks again!

Sorry, I was not around today to answer your question.

If there is a question about Impedance Crap (not resistance crap), there is probably a stickie thread by some crazy person somewhere that explains it. You should have searched. It is called Impedance & Sensitivity of Speakers and it is in the Speakers Section.

Resistance applices to DC current. When you are dealing with AC current, you are dealing with Impedance.
