Default Star Trek: Generations

I hope they will release this movie seperately soon.

I mean I already own the TNG movie Collection but I don't want "Insurrection" + "Nemesis".

Does anybody have a Cover which fits to the other American releases (I have "The Undiscovered Country" + "First Contact" [and the new Star Trek] as seperate releases)?

I know that the missing Trek films (I, III, V, VII, IX + X) are out in UK but I hate the big Blu-Ray cases and dislike the design of them.

I'm in the same situation. I already have First Contact and I just want Generations. I also have II, IV, and VI and would like to get III as well. I just don't like the other ones. I was thinking about importing III and Generations from the UK but I did not now the Blu cases there are bigger. If that's in fact true, then I guess I just wait until they relase the entire series separately....oh well.

To the OP - i would check out the custom covers thread and or group here on this site, very talented people, and very willing to help in my experience. I have got a few very cool custom covers here.

As far as fitting the uk box, i am sure that size cover does not exist so you may have to get lucky and catch one of the artists on a bored day. Either way there are tons of resources on the net for custom covers, chances are you could get individual art work that would fit the USA size case or at the least find someone willing to help you out and make one.

The blu-cases in the UK are the same width as all normal amaray DVD cases, as opposed to the thinner US ones, but they are the same height, so it woudln't stand out TOO much in your collection... But then I have a multi region player and import things all the time, so have had to make peace with lack of uniformity anyway.

These films were released individually in Hong Kong as well, so you guys import from there without having any giant case problems.

I am from Germany and started importing stuff with 14 or 15 (video games) and die this as well with DVDs ans now with BDs.

I had some UK imports but sold all except of "Inland Empire" cause their is no other alternative and it does not have to fit with the others that much as "Generations" with the other Trek movies.

Except that one UK import the only bigger BD cases I own are the Criterions which isn't great that they are bigger but they are at least a lot prettier than the UK ones and they must be a bit bigger cause of the huge booklets they are coming with.

I did not know that! Thank you!
Do you know how they look like?

I'll go search for the artworks...

Does anyone know if the UK releases are reguon free? The site lists them as untested for region A and C (are special features in PAL?).

I do not know if the Special Features are in PAL but that really doesn't matter with HD-TVs or does it (in America)?
The UK Trek movies are ALL region free.

Actually I'm pretty sure it does, because I hear of a lot of people in the US having problem playing standard definition PAL extras (if they are in HD, then obv there is no PAL/NTSC difference). I don't know if it's a TV thing or a blu-ray player thing. In the UK I know we can play NTSC and PAL on our TVs and DVD and Blu-ray players (providing they are multi regional), but I gotta feeling that PAL/NTSC capability does not come as standard in the US for standard definition.

Looking at the extras on these discs, it does look like there are some extras in SD, and some in HD. So it is possible that the SD extras wouldn't be playable on the imports... depends how much you care about them I guess!

To the Original Poster ... check out this site for custom Star Trek DVD scans:

http://www.rixgrafix.com/

I imagine that you can customize it to fit a Blu-ray case.

The Hong Kong releases are a possibility casue they are (as I'm told) thin like the US ones.

But the front cover artwork is similar to the UK versions - a) I don't like them and b) they are a lot different from the US ones...

Yep.

But if you don't have it, it's a good movie imho. I know some don't like it, but it's one of my favorites. We get Kirk one last time, and then he gets an honorable send off, and Malcolm McDowell as Tholian Soren is perhaps my favorite bad guy of all the Trek movies. Even probably beyond Kahn for me, because he's funnier. Love Kahn, but this guy just makes me smile. Here's his famous "Time is a predator" speech:

During the filming, Bill Shatner was writing his autobiography. Shatner interviewed Malcolm McDowell and asked him: "What does it feel like to kill an American Icon!?" Here's his answer:

I skipped the Next Gen box set because I despise both Insurrection and Nemesis.

I saw this on a HD cable channel a few times and it looked marvelous. I thought that they would NEVER release this separately. So I ordered this today along with Jesus Christ Superstar BD and a book.
