Solaris coming to Blu-Ray? - Blu-ray Forum

I would love to see Solaris on Blu-Ray. This ranks up there with the top scifi movies ever made. I love this movie. The score is one of the best I've ever heard... Sticks with you kind of like the score for Halloween... Anyone heard anything on Solaris. I'm guessing it would be distributed by Fox...

No the movie staring George Clooney... and that hot chic from Ronin... Wow she has a smoking hot body... and those eyes she has are just gorgeous and would look great on blu-ray....

It was one of my favorite sci fi's in a long time. Cliff Martinez did an amazing job on the score. I'm glad they used him instead of Pink Floyd. I love the Floyd, but Cliff's music just fit the theme of the movie so much better. Clooney's best stuff since O Brother IMO. And the visuals are stunning.

To tell you the truth, I haven't figured out the upscaling yet. Is it really that much better? I put Empire Strikes Back into my normal DVD player and another copy in my PS3 upscaled, and I just didn't notice a difference.

Well I will be honest with you too. I dont have my blu system set up yet. My tv is on order and should be here in a week and yesterday I ordered the 60g ps3 from amazon with 8 free movies. So I can't say either, but from everything I have read, the ps3 upscales very well. Do you have the 1.8 update on it?

Yeah, I do. It's all up and running correctly. I think I just need to take another look at it.

Im sorry but I Hated (well strongly disliked, atleast) Sunshine. its just Event Horizon repackaged and toned down and cleaner. Solaris was and actual piece of scifi Film, while sunshine was just the factory made 'somebody made a mistake and now everyone's gonna die a horrible death one by one' type of movie, and it even had a burt skinless guy just like even horizon, except he couldnt teleport.

i will admit though that sunshine was really pretty and will be a pleasure to see in HD, even if I didnt like the film.

Event Horizon was a film I liked but I hate to say it but I really did not like the Solaris film. this won't be one for me to buy on blu-ray.

I'd like to see Solaris on BD, but the Solaris I want to see is Andrei Tarkovsky's version, the original one, with Natalya Bondarchuk, Donatas Banionas and Yuri Yarvet.

I think THAT is one of the great science fiction films.

Saw at IMDB Carpenter's "The Thing" is getting a remake, supposedly a 2011 release...looks like 2011 will be a good year for SiFi....
