This has been out for discussion for a couple of hours now on other threads. It didn't happen and it they said that people with briefcases (presumably lawyers) told them that it was not time to announce this news. However, they seemed extremely anxious about telling the information. Oh well.

Yeah, they said they really wanted to tell us, but that the guys with the briefcases wouldn't let them yet. They said they will announce it ASAP.

I'm thinking the announcement is that G4 is going high def.

They probably haven't finalized a deal with the cable/satellite companies yet, and that's why they couldn't talk about it.

If that is the biggest announcement they have ever had.. they are more pathetic than I thought. And I thought they were REALLY REAAALLLY pathetic.

Um...they didn't actually SAY it was anything having to do with us.

One of the posters here just included the link in a Warner-rumor thread as comparison to show us how hysterically wishful-paranoid we get when somebody hints at a rumor whose blanks we fill in with our own imagination.

As to the network, yes, it's pretty much a no-brainer for HD:
They already know they've got the PS3 market sewn up, and most of their parent company's channels are already going for HD-network splinters...
From what the comments show, most are just disappointed that there aren't any gaming shows left on the "SpikeTV 2" channel to show on those PS3-enabled bigscreens.

I don't think it's gonna be them going HD. They stated a couple of times over
the past few days that it wasn't HD and had nothing to do with an xbox. I'm
not a conspiracy theorist, but I do think it quite a coincidence we had the the
drama re: last night's "announcement" that didn't come true, and oddly their big
announcement can't be made at this time. Granted I don't think Kevin or Olivia
would actually have knowledge of this magnitude, but, as we learned last night,
it is fun to theorize
