Default Power Conditioner

Any of you here use Power conditioners to regulate power voltage and filtering for your home theater gear??

Are you happy with it and is it worth the money??

Take care!

Voltage regulators and filtering are two diffrent thing.

yes got both + power back up (APC). Everything in my house is electric.

If I had know better I would have gotten a much cheaper Voltage regulator, but I got the monster one ($1400 & 63 pounds), I have had it 3 years & no troubles, does its job, if it lasts 10+ years, good, for that price it better!!!

My moster clean power ($599), the 1st one the switcher switch stop working after 4 months, but since I got the it from a atherized deal, monster replaced the unit for free. 3 years later no toubles.

It depends, my LCD is just hook up to this (to save space):

my crt is hook-up to a $20 APC power strip, my RP gets the monster stuff.

I would not say major but some improvement. I don't get that line across the screen when I turn on the light, AC, dishwasher or when someone turns on the garbage disposer. Since it is a RP & has a lamp I know that the life of the lamp will last a long time. I still don't trust having the vacuum cleaner & the Rp tv on at the same time, but I am sure the RP lamp would be fine.

I can. I use a PS Audio Premier, which takes the wall AC from the outlet, converts it to DC and then back into clean AC. Removing the junk picked up in the power, including spikes and other grit. Clean power is essential for all your gear to function as it was designed. It is easy to see and hear the improvement. But I do recommend a device such as the PS Audio that essentially makes clean power, rather than a line conditioner.

Purepower is the best I could find and has a battery back up so your projo's lamp won't fry without the fan being on.

Thanks for the input.

The problem I have is that I have heard so many conflicting reports that conditioners do/don't make a difference. Most decent conditioners cost a fortune. Just trying to weigh things up.

Default Worms indeed...

I guess this subject does raise all kinds of opinions.

How does this look:

http://www.belkin.com/PureAV_detail....duct_Id=195291

Perhaps it is best to go with a UPS system the voltage regulation. I would find this more comforting especially if I am updating my firmware to the PS3. I would likely feel better to know that it would not turn off during this...

The only ones that make any real measurable difference is those that offer balanced power. (60v on both legs instead of 120v and 0v) we are talking $$$.
The rest do offer protection and some filtering. ymmv.
