Default New guy to the fight

Hi everyone, This is my first time posting but ive been reading the forum a lot. I am not new to blu ray, Ive had my 20gb PS3 since launch and used it quite abit, but I never had a hd display so I never bought blu ray movies. Two months ago I bought an hd projector with a 100 inch 16:9 screen to replace my sd projector and oh my god it is insane! dvd movies look like crap compared to the blu rays. I was soo happy to be in the hd world, and started planing my first purchases.

Well since I have a kid I missed alot of movies at the theater, like transformers.I was so exited to get to see transformers as it was meant to be seen, but when the commercials came on I saw they said hd dvd or dvd. I checked into it and found that it was true, no blu ray transformers. I was sad, I didnt even know a format war was going on. After looking into it, blu ray was a better format, mainly because it can hold more and transfer faster, so in the future that allows more to be done with it. BD also has more movies I want so to buy a hd dvd player for only a few movies seemed like a bad thing, especially since this is a format war and its fought through sales and numbers on paper. So I decided to wait it out, watch my bd movies and be happy. In time I would get to see the hd dvd stuff if the format died.

Well....despite the pain in the ass a format war is, I found an equalizer. I got my directv upgraded to hd, got the hd dvr, and just RECORDED TRANSFORMERS IN HD!!! I am happy now HD DVD challenged me. They said if you want our movie in hd you gotta buy our player and disks. I said no and found a different way, so I feel like a winner. Now I hope blu ray wins the war soon cause I do like to have the disks to when I really like movies, but having the movie is the most important part.

Oh, and transformers looked great in hd!
