Default Question about Dual Layer

Do BD-50 discs have the same pause issue that DVD-9 discs exhibit. It's not that big of a deal but I was wondering if I have to experience that annoying pause when switching between layers with Blu-Ray. Thanks.

NO.
That is specified in the specifications that the buffer must be big enough to enable continuous playback when changing between layers

Funny how Sony saw fit to include that in the BD spec, but continues to put out current DVD players with insufficient buffer size

umm, the BD spec and DVD spec are totally different. while i don't know for certain, i have never seen a DVD player that didn't have the change over. and by the way, sony didn't necessarily put it into the spec. it could have been any of the other CE companies that are on the board.
